Staff were absolutely incredible to myself and my friend on Friday night when we felt uncomfortable they kept an eye and made us feel really safe. Couldn't of asked for kinder bar and door staff thank you!

Love the decor, great pub, quite a fair size and 2 bars, I think theres a third bar upstairs? great place to grab a drink with friends and have a laugh sat on their comfy sofas!
weekends are good there, small entry fee but understandable. Main bar wraps around makes it very easy to get served.

The Tavern in Barnstaple left much to be desired. The entry fee felt like a rip-off considering the overall experience. The atmosphere was dead and lacked any energy or excitement. The prices for drinks and food were unreasonably high for what was offered. The service was lackluster, with slow and inattentive staff. Overall, it was a disappointing visit, and I wouldn't recommend spending your time or money at The Tavern when there are better options available in Barnstaple.

Popped in for a pint and a couple of games of pool. Known the tavern for decades, looking very tired and in need of a complete refurbishment.
