Lol. Opened account in march online. Never got send any details in post or by phone. Phoned 3 times and used the online AI "help" They wouldn't give me any details. Fast forward to June and I'm sitting in the bank for 40 mins waiting for an appointment. I will now be closing my account immediately! What a shower!

I have been a NatWest customer for many years, and have found in that time, all of the female staff and most of the male, at the Barnstaple branch, to be polite, friendly and helpful. I am sorry but some of them have received abuse from other customers during Covid, which has made the staff, not surprisingly, defensive, which can sometimes come across as indifference.

After using the NatWest Barnstaple branch for many years, I can say that I have found all of the female staff, and most of the male, particularly the younger ones, to be friendly and helpful. Having received a certain
amount of abuse over the Covid period, some of them have become, not surprisingly, quite defensive, which can come across sometimes as indifference. Once they realise that you are not going to be unpleasant towards them, then they do their best to help you with whatever problem you have come in with. Recently, Sarah (?)helped me to use the app, after I was unable to do something online, because NatWest were “making improvements,” which meant online banking was unavailable for three days! If NatWest close their Barnstaple branch, then I will move to nationwide or starlings bank. So, if you’re listening at head office, please invest in your staff, not more technology, which doesn’t always work. Thanks.

Not much use if you work Monday to Friday as they still aren't opening on Saturdays

As a business owner time spent waiting in a bank is essentially a waste of time. After being advised by NatWest over the phone that a standing order could be changed in branch the day before it went out I travelled to the branch to be told by the unhelpful lady on the door it could not. When I asked why I had been advised it could she replied 'They were wrong'.No apology or possible solution.I also needed a till change collection which I had booked 6 hours prior. I informed the unhelpful door lady who replied 'Have you got anything else to do for 34 minutes'I walked out as I did have other things to do, like running my business. This took place on Thursday 6th January. After being a NatWest customer for over 30 years I am starting to notice a trend in this bank towards being unhelpful personally and on a business level.

Surprised at some of the reveiws, everytime I walked in to the Barnstaple branch every single time, the staff are welcoming, friendly and super polite, I would say this is one of the places I have been given the best customer service

Very helpful when you actually get to see someone . But getting to see someone seems to be the issue. Over an hour wait!!
