The fish was tasteless, like not seasoned.. the chips were extremely oily and not fresh. Small portion for £12.50. Definitely NOT going there again

I have always come here as a local whilst sometimes the chips can be a bit burnt/crisp (not today but previous visits a while back) I would say everything else is good honestly! They have changed staff over time, you can see efforts are being made but the 2 lads who served me today definitely had a good conversation with me which I appreciate and the right attitude.
I would love for 1 of them to reach out here if they can or Ella please would be nice cheers :)

Tasted like yesterday's chips were re-heated this evening.
I've had good meals from you before but this was really disappointing - I might as well microwave oven chips.

This is our local fish & chip shop.
Used to go there 5/6 times a year. But ended up up being hit and miss @ the best, we thought we would give it one more go tonight.
Well what can I say,
Half the staff doing all the work & at least one couldn?t be less interested in taking your order ( only 1 lady & children in there when we arrived.) ordered 2 large cod £12.80 each & 1 chips. When served the fish was only barely cooked, cold in the middle, obviously cooked in old oil as batter was dark brown. As for the chips they were the worst ive ever had, old reheated and very soft.on the plus side the curry sauce tasted as it should.

Stopped here whilst in holiday, staff seem friendly and professional. Place had no atmosphere as it was a quiet point. Food was average for a chippy. not badly prices for the area. Would defo stop again if in the area

Waited ten minutes watching food get cold while staff flapped around doing nothing large cod and chips £18.80, was all batter. real disappointment. So overpriced, bad quality and terrible service

We came hear last night 20/5/25.
I was genuinely blown away with how good the chips were, now I'm a very pickey chip person as I like them nice and crispy but still fluffy inside. They were very very much on point and as such I would highly recommend this chippy to an of my friends and family.

Worst fish chips I've had in my life I don't know how they are not embarrassed what they are serving a large cod is a small. So a small cod must be a fish finger I'm from London and I've seen better this I'd only chip shop in axminster and it's a shop and don't place order on phone they don't cook it ill never go there again in my life next they will here of me I've opened a chip shop around the corner disgusting don't go!!

I phoned my order in to be picked up at 7.30 and it was not being done they just kept serving people that walked in and my husband said the order was phoned in do you not take phone calls for orders anymore and said he would go else were for his food poor customer service it is in there now

We are local to Axminster and decided to get fish and chips on a whim. The lady doing the cooking seemed outwardly and verbally stressed - perhaps they were understaffed? - but the young lad on the till was really kind, even when we had to return five minutes later due to a meal missing in our bag. Food was okay, but I do feel like you can get better chips in Seaton or Lyme if you?re willing to make the drive.

Absolutely shocking!! Two lads one clearly new and the other just cooking everything leaving it in the side while it takes the lad 15 minutes to do one order. Over 15 people waiting for 30 minutes plus whilst the fryer guy buggers off out the back. It's a shambles of a plaice. They should be clearing orders quickly not leaving each other to sink. Shambles
