This was my 1st visit to the waffle house.whislt the food was lovely. There member of staff was a right jobsworth.I was supervising 2 children who were with me .One was a little older than there stated only under 4 in there soft play. I was present at all time.There were no other children in there.The children were being very well behaved. They really didn't have to say anything but twice they came over to me whilst I was still supervising. They really made an issue when there wasn't one. Obviously common sense was not allowed.

I arrived and waited at the entrance for five minutes to be seated, as instructed by the sign, yet no one attended to me. I ordered salmon and avocado on sourdough bread for £12,85. While the presentation was appealing and the food tasted good, the portion size did not justify such a high price. The slice of bread was particularly thin. For a price like this, I'd expected a side of some kind.
Furthermore, the staff do not provide napkins, cutlery, or water ? customers are expected to collect these themselves, with the water station located on the opposite side of the venue. The glasses also had an unpleasant smell.
Overall, the service and portion size do not justify the cost. This establishment is presented as one that supports the community, yet the pricing feels more in line with a fashionable London café. It gives the impression that it caters to those who can comfortably afford such prices, rather than being accessible to the wider community.

Best authentic Belgian waffles. All varieties excellent, especially simplicity of maple syrup. Lively atmosphere and games to borrow to keep you entertained. We come back regularly, and they've just added a multi choice salad. Mine was fabulous ?

Love this place. If you're in Axminster or Lyme this is the place to go. Dog friendly too which is great. Plus you are supporting the community in the process. Perfect.
