When entering the Axminster premises I was kept waiting at the cashiers desk for well over 10 minutes while the assistant served the customer in front (very slowly), I was patient and awaited my turn with no emotion (even though my husband was dying of cancer at home). When I presented the prescription, the assistant stood haughtily reading through taking her time to look at each item on the list, handed it back to me and said she had the medication in stock but could not fill the prescription because the hospital consultant had made a mistake on the prescription and had not put (numbers) next to a word. I was given the prescription back.I left the premises and walked 100 yards to Mortons Pharmacy where they looked at the prescription and told me that there was nothing wrong with it. I had to leave the prescription with them because they, like Lloyds Pharmacy did not have the medication in stock. This meant that I had to return home with no medication for my dying husband who was in terrible pain for the rest of that day and night. My main issue is with the assistant at the Axminster branch and the way she dealt with me she was haughty and officious and showed absolutely no empathy whatsoever.? Why was I sent away for such a ridiculous oversight by a busy oncology consultant.? Why didn?t she (or the pharmacist) offer to contact the oncologist at the hospital to clarify the prescription (if this was really necessary); the name and telephone number was on the prescription. The assistant must have understood what she was reading, and would have understood that the medication was for a sick cancer patient. Her conduct that day was despicable and if I were her manager she would no longer be employed

Reduced the opening hours drastically - if you work then you are going to have a problem. I used to be able to get to the shop by 5.10 in time for 5:30 closing (I work until 5pm) - now it closes at 5pm. they also close between 1.45-2.45 -not helpful

Brilliant service from Hollie and the team on a regular basis. They have gone that extra mile for me and it is much appreciated. Thank you

Like all Boots stores it is aimed squarely at the female market.

Extremely unpleasant, impolite staff. Especially one older woman. Avoid if you don't have to urgently buy Boots products. Better buy them online. For any other stuff the pharmacy next door is much better, with helpful and polite staff.

I have been using this store for two years and up until recently have found all staff members to be completely charming and very helpful! However, the last couple of times I've been served by a young male Pharmacist on 11th August and 13th August! His manner is appalling and his customer service skills are nil! Please someone give him some training on basic politeness!I appreciate these are difficult times and right the way through lockdown, all other staff have been exemplary!!

Don't enter this shop if you are looking for quick service. I went into what was then an empty shop yesterday and waited 8 minutes to be served, as did the three people who came in after me, despite the staff member and pharmacist being made aware that there was a customer waiting in the shop, one of whom was in a wheelchair. Boots shops generally have a reputation for slow service but there is a serious need for retraining here in Axminster..
