Amazing views. We managed to climb up the rock and stood above, looking over the amazing scene. It felt unreal. Page of warning!!! The parking is coins only, and the cafe is closed for the autumn/winter months, so i couldn't get change. Just parked side of road, no signs or road markings saying otherwise. Everyone else parked there as well, all good.

Parked up in the pay & Display car park and had a lovely walk around the area.Boards dotted about to tell you the history, an interesting read ?Amazing views from the top of the rocks, lovely woodland walk around it ( watch out for slippery slopes and vanishing steps !! ) and logged another Trig ?.Public toilets and a small shop at the carpark entrance.

This area seems really popular with locals so can be relatively busy. I had a brief window of time to visit here, so I avoided the official car park which is cash payment only. I found some parking spaces close to the road. There is a fairly steep walk up to the base of the rocks. Depending how you arrive there you may cross some slippery loose gravel. The rocks are fairly easy to access with a number of routes to reach the top and get close to edge.In total I spent less than 30 minutes here. There are a number of walks and a picnic area if you have more time. There is also a Cafe and toilet building which were closed late afternoon when I arrived.Sadly other people do not seem to respect this area so feel they can leave litter everywhere.Amazing views from the top make it well worth a visit.

Was here last Thursday, after not visiting for some time and it never fails to leave me in awe. This is definitely one of my favourite country parks, so many walks and bike trails to embark on, with lots of beautiful scenery all along the way and boards telling you about the history of the area too. A real escape from the busyness of daily life and what better place than here.

They are black and rocky. There is a great view over the nearby towns. You don't pay to see them. We were on a walk, but there is a car park nearby (pay and display) and a coffee shop and toilets. We walked off down the ex railway track that is now an excellent path, with interesting notices about it's past

Beautiful place for a walk. Plenty of flat bits to walk along and up and down hill if you fancy more of a leg stretch. There is a cafe at the Black Rocks car park. You can walk towards the National Stone Centre from here. At present the car parking is £2.50 for two hours, £4.50 for four hours and £7 for a whole day. Car parking applies 24/7 365 I believe.

There is a car park nearby that is literally 5-10 minutes walk away.DE4 4GT brings you to the car park. You literally come out of the car park, cross the walk way, and up the hill. The hill is a 5 minute walk.Steep yes. Short yes.Turn towards the forest.Don't climb up the rocks immediately, go through the forest for 10 seconds and it rises up, giving an easier pathway up to the rocks. An excellent view from up the top, but do be careful with children and animals and there are several gaps in the rocks with severe drops in between them.Worth a visit, but not an all day event.

10 minutes drive from Matlock, Black Rock is absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area. A fairly short but somewhat steep walk from the car park (pay and display) to the top of the rocks. Really nice views over the surrounding area. Brilliant if you have a spare 20-30 mins. If you have more time then the nearby signposted trails are worth the walk.
