Should have phoned ahead to make booking while on the canal but team couldnt have been more helpful in finding a table for 10 of us.
Staff were incredibly attentive and charmingly engaged in a family prank....maybe to recover from the several fish items that werent available on the menu (server tablet hadnt updated).
Would return here if back in the area.

The food was excellent ? the Sweet & Sour Chicken starter was delicious, and the mixed platter roast dinner was really tasty. Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
The service was also great ? friendly, attentive, and exactly what you?d hope for.
A couple of things that could be improved:
-A 10% service charge was added automatically to the bill. Personally, I find it more comfortable to add a tip myself if I?m happy with the service (and in this case I absolutely would have, since the service was excellent).
-The men?s toilets unfortunately weren?t clean. One had no toilet paper and was dirty, and the other was even worse, so I wasn?t able to use them.
-There were a lot of flies, which was uncomfortable. I would suggest something like a fly fan repellent on the tables.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and service, but a little more attention to the small details would make the experience even better.

First class service all round. From first getting there to sitting down. Ordering food and drinks Samla looked after us to start with and was very helpful and made us feel.welcome. George Dean then looked after us with our food. Both are a credit to the The Dragoon at Willington. As were not local. But on the high standard we was looked after will definatley make the journey back. Not expensive surrounds all very well maintained and clean. Well worth the vist

Brilliant pub, served by Amy, only 3 days into her job. Recommended using the Bespoke Inns app and asked if we live locally to qualify for the discount. Well done and thank you Amy.

Great pub with great food. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. Kids had a good choice and reasonably good value for what you get. Also good to have a kids activity sheet on the back of the menu.
Only off putting thing was all of the damn flies. I appreciate that it is hot outside, but there were lots and they were buzzing around us and our food. It stopped the experience from being 5*. Need to install one of those fly lights that kills them.

Nice place near to canal (although the car park opposite ruins the view a little). Didn't have food but no complaints about the bar service. We'll definitely return.

Nice food - and they have a good deal on 3 small plates - but when we ordered the 3 small plates deal we ended up being charged for each one, which was about 50% mark up compared to the deal. This was despite asking specifically about the deal and being told it would be valid for our order when we made the order. When we raised this to staff at the time of paying, we got a shrug and we were offered a glass of wine between 3 people. We were told it was ?one of those things? and they could do nothing else. Honestly, very bad service to a) mislead customers, b) not explain the mistake c) not care about fixing the mistake
Also expect a 10% service charge to be added on automatically - which feels in this case like insult on injury

Lovely food in a pleasant setting. Service is usually good, although you can get a little forgotten when the pub is busy. Sunday lunch is a set menu and is reasonable although they now add an optional service charge of 10%. Our son loves the chunky chips! Standard food is a little overpriced.

Visited on spec for lunch on our way to Cambridge. The food was excellent, the atmosphere pleasant and we were really happy to have stumbled across such a nice pub/restaurant.
