The store was bad before and seems to have recently replaced the cheese, deli and bakery counters with new fridges that make it harder to find items.
The freezers are still terrible, these are apparently being updated over this month but considering it?s the peak of summer and most of the freezers are empty it?s really disappointing to turn up at this store with a select few things on a list and to basically leave the store with none of them since they either weren?t in stock or the part of the store that was supposed to have them is currently undergoing maintenance.
Only positive is the car park is now at least smooth, but looks like the entire store budget must have gone into that at the expense of the stock and range of options available within the actual store.

Always seems dark and claustrophobic. Moving items around. Don't seem to have such a variety in the chiller department

I cannot believe how this place has gone down hill. I regularly use Coalville which is a really great store - well run, well stocked and a pleasure to be in. I went to Swadlicote store today and it is like Beirut by comparison. Fridges out of order (there is enough water on the floor to supply a village in Africa for a month), poorly stocked shelves, and above all - dirty. The Cafe is positively a health hazard. The table legs, chairs and surfaces have ingrained dirt. They clear the tables (once a day) but don't wipe them. There is food under the tables on the floors that they just walk by. It is like they just don't care anymore. There is regulalry no small trolleys so you have to walk back and get your own from the car park. Don't get me started on the toilets - they are like the one out of Trainspotting; I've had better experiences on the last day of Glastonbury. Shocking. A word of warning - you might benefit by using an off road vehicle to navigate the canyons in the car park. They ought to get the Management team from Coalville over to train the local managers and reinvigorate this store; alternatively - close it.

The gents toilets were filthy, we went into the restaurant & the electronic ordering board was broken. We had to look & shout for someone to serve us, when the girl came out it was like she was doing us a favour serving us. The coffee & chocolate machine just put out tasteless brown water, we mentioned it to the girl & she wasn?t surprised & said she would get some to fix it again !

I have to say what a delight it was to be helped by Ketiyana (Kay) in the café today. From finding a soft chair for our elderly friend, to cleaning the table, to taking our order and then she even helped with getting our drinks as the hot chocolate was playing up. She was so helpful and pleasant and made us feel like valued customers. And not the least she smiled. Thank you Kay.

Lady on the self check out was rushed of her feet however friendly and assisted. Full credit to you.
Paid for helium balloons, took them to the kiosk and the rather abrupt lady chuckled and said she had no helium. I asked for a refund which she then guessed an amount after I gave her the receipt. Had to ask for the correct money to be refunded which I'm still awaiting to show on my banking! No helium or couldn't be bothered was the impression I got!

A huge shop with everything you need

This store needs a serious upgrade. It starts in the car park, the potholes are dangerous for cars and pedestrians. You would be wise to collect a trolley from the bays in the car park, it?s rare there are any near the door. The smokers and bollards are gathered around the entrance, making it an obstacle course. Once inside it?s absolutely awful. The store is filthy, old and very tired. The freezers were mostly empty. They weren?t lit and were iced up. There were puddles of water on the floor. Look closely at the shelves and they are filthy. This is not a pleasant shopping experience at all. The Loughborough store is brilliant. Close the Swadlincote store, resurface the car park, gut the shop and refurbish everything. The location is perfect, the staff are doing their best, the company needs to invest in itself.

Trying to get a breakfast in the cafe was a nightmare. Told it would be a 40 mins wait paid for tea and coffee told drinks machine out of use . Wrote to manager finally got a reply and it was as though he didn't want to know . Deffinately would never visit again . When round corner for a breakfast which was cheaper and fantastic service.
