Fantastic convenience store, great prices, brilliant customer service

I am sadly scoring this store two stars due to the dreadful ignorance and poor service by stand-in management staff recently. The usual regular staff are very good but a few newer staff are appaling, badly trained. It is chaotic when the store gets busy. And if you have a query or concern about a product (or yet again the tills break) you are better looking it up on Google. In their defence the store can get busy, but the coop brand is seriously let down by the stand in manager at this store, his arrogance is very unpleasant.

This Co-op store is one of the best supermarkets I use, other supermarkets falling by the wayside in comparison. It's a small store but is well stocked with the essentials and luxury goods. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, one member of staff is exceptional, who always makes me feel at ease. I thanked her for her work ethic last Christmas by giving her a little gift. The day I brought it in, she wasn't working and I gave the gift to a member of staff to give to her. I asked him to tell her NOT to take any notice of the box I had put her gifts in as I save boxes throughout the year and use them to put Christmas and Birthday gifts in. He didn't!!!!!! ... As a consequence, after taking the paper off the gift and she saw the box, she thought she had been given a laptop!!! After Christmas when I saw her, I explained what had happened. We had a good laugh however, more importantly, she was delighted with the soft wool scarf and luxury chocolates I had given her... phew! ... After Christmas other, if not all, members of staff have given me a condensed act of the help she gives, which is very welcome and I have no doubt at all that the service will continue to improve as time goes by.In view of the above, I give this store a mark of - 100+!Carol Topliss

Very friendly helpful staff. When an old lady tripped outside and fell yesterday morning they were extremely kind and professional. First aid was needed and they were excellent. A shop assistant was also extremely kind getting her what she had come to the shop for. Well done Moira Coop.
