Nice little canal side pub doing classic pub dishes well. Good satisfying comfort food and great beer to go with. For those arriving by canal, there is some mooring outside, but the pub is only 20 minutes walk from the other Shardlow moorings

Excellent food but would of given 5 stars if hot. Dog friendly. Free car park but no disabled parking.

Friendly welcome. Staff happy to help. Great setting in the warm seasons . Food was of generous serving and tasted good. Reasonable prices to.
UPDATE, great welcome and great food at a fair price. Love visiting for food and drinks.

Great place to eat all week. Beautiful setting next to the canal and food very good quality. Lovely place to have a good meal. We had a few beers but food was between £10 and £20. Came fairly quickly. We last went on a Monday evening so not too busy but, due the nature of this place, if the weather was good, then I would expect it to be very busy at weekends.

Literally, in this day and age somewhere that provides zero descent options for a vegetarian and none for a vegan. Stay away!!!

We come here at least 3 times a week for food .
Came today for Father?s Day breakfast at 11:32 and they refused to serve us as they stopped serving at 11:30 ?.. very disappointing

I had just gone on a walk around the canal and I was a bit hungry so I came here for some food.I ordered my food and it came in around 5-10 minutes which was good but the food was disgraceful.the egg was so greasy or Oily when I put it in my mouth it slipped out onto the floor and the beans was so dry and look terrible the sausage was good but the hash browns tasted like they had been thrown into the bin and taken back out.
