We went to the resturant, midweek. Excellent food, relatively limited menu, but to be expect when you're delivering quality. Great wine list. Staff were excellent, from entrance to paying the bill. Highly recommend this 5 star resturant.

My wife and I attended the Peacock at lunchtime for our 30th wedding anniversary. The knowledge and service from Poppy was superb. The food was delightful, creative and most things sourced locally.The portion sizes were just right. We had a great time and all the employees that we had dealings with were polite and friendly. The venue is a very old building, pleasantly decorated, clean and tidy. It has beautiful gardens leading down to the river, and ideally situated for visitors to Derbyshire. We would definitely go again.

We visited for a family breakfast treat but were left feeling disappointed by the service. The main issue was a lack of communication from the staff. For example, my breakfast was served without hash browns, and no one mentioned they had run out or offered an alternative. Similarly, an order for grapefruit juice was replaced with apple juice without asking. These small oversights, combined with having to search for staff to pay our bill, made us feel dismissed as customers.

Thank you all so much for making our stay so fabulous. The Peacock is a beautiful and very well run hotel where welcome, excellent food wonderful service is paramount. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We were at the Peacock not only for a short break but also to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The staff made us feel so special and even took some photos for us to remember it all by. We will be back.

We had a memorable experience staying at the hotel and enjoying dinner at the restaurant. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was small, as expected for the countryside, but also beautifully appointed and comfortable. The restaurant was a bit of a welcome surprise. We looked at the menu and thought it a touch more fancy then we wanted. But we stayed, and were rewarded with good service, delicious meals (steak and lamb) and an overall very enjoyable evening. The Peacock is a delightful property, and we'd count ourselves fortunate to return. By the way, we also left some electronics behind and the staff was very helpful with securing their return.

Dinner at the Peacock on Saturday night was excellent. The food was fantastic although not, perhaps, exceptional -everything was done well but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. Service was excellent although not quite perfect - wine service was slow at times and aperitifs arrived after the wine. That said, we had a good time and it was great value for money for the quality of food and wine provided. I would certainly return.

First night experience!
We first came to The Peacock 2 weeks ago. When we walked in the front door the welcome was absolutely perfect, Laura greeted us and was so warm it was such a Great feeling. We continued with the evening thinking this is a place where you are really welcome. So much so, after our coffee I booked another visit with a stay over. Purely because the way Laura greeted us on our first visit. This is such a lovely relaxing venue, you have got to try it. You will like it!
We will be back that?s fact!

We had a wonderful lunch yesterday. The service was superb, staff incredibly efficient, helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic - could not fault any of it. We will be back - a gem in the Peaks!
