Been here several times now over the past couple of years, mainly for Sunday lunch. The main reasons we ate here was the excellent quality of the food and also at a very reasonable price. However, on our most recent visit a couple of weeks ago, we had the usual Sunday lunch but instantly noticed how smaller the portions were, especially the vegetables which used to be served separately in a large dish, but are now on the same plate and much less. I thought that maybe it?s because they are trying to absorb increased costs as everyone else is, but that wasn?t the case as when I asked for the bill I was very surprised - and disappointed - to see that the final total was near to £60 for two lunches, two beers and one coffee. £57? Really? A shame as it?s a favourite venue that I won?t be returning to after what looks like a near 25% increase., hence only 2 stars.

We are a group of four couples. We hadn't got together for more than a year.
We were allowed to catch up, then leisurely place our food orders.
Special mention to MILLIE, who looked after us all afternoon ???

Just popped in here for lunch as we are on our way to throgh to the peaks, lovely warm welcome from the staff, really nice food. All in all a lovely stop off and I'd come back if we are ever in the area again.

Pies we're OK, need more gravy, when asked for extra it took a good 5mins. Asked for ketchup with chicken goujons and it was just plonked on the table, no asking if everything was OK with the food, table opposite sent there food back as not edible, we had to listen to really poor customer service , no apology to them and a serious lack of professionalism, in need of training, gonna need to improve quickly or will start to lose custom.

We came here for food and drinks.
Service - we had a young lady take our order she didn't really know what was on the menu took our order after having to check our questions with another member of staff ...then forgot to put one of the meals through so only one meal arrived !
Other members of staff were very apologetic and a little too attentive after this error infact I'm amazed we managed to eat our food we were asked so many times if everything was OK!
We were offered complimentary drinks so we opted for coffee ! Which they again forgot about !
Food was ok mussels were perfect bread a little dry and the skin on fries were not great.
Gammon was nice eggs perfect and the salad was good.
Nice clean pub very attractive outside seating area.
