Normally have good visits here but today was extremely disappointing. The tables and menus weren't clean outside. The staff weren't that busy as usually are on previous visits. Price increases are a bit higher than average. Miss the cheerful friendly staff.

Visited here today after moving away several years ago.
Very disappointed. I ask for quiche and was told I was to early ( it was 11.30am).. So had a bowl of chips with cheese on £7.50... I could not believe it. No prices on cakes..
Poor dog locked in a pen outside..

A place to avoid if you have children. This is one of the most bizarre places I've ever visited to eat, which you will appreciate if you have, or ever intend to visit here. There are a lengthy list of rules on posters, black boards and even an Alexa making announcements regarding restrictions around what children should and should not be doing. Staff seem to have an active hatred towards children. So much so I've been confronted by staff on more than one occasion for where my child has chosen to sit. The most recent incident today was a staff member confronting me to say he had been observing my 2 and 4 year old on CCTV running around and pulling on a chain curtain (to stop flies). Neither of these things were happening and I am hyper vigilant of my children's behavior. They are good kids and we were planning to dine there. After being accosted by a staff member, he became confrontational towards myself in front of my two daughters and stormed off. Needless to say this made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I'm not sure why staff here are so hateful towards children and families, especially when they are a business directly attached to a small farm which attracts young families. I've visited here previously and tried to take it with a pinch of salt, but today's visit has put me off visiting again. I don't know of any other independent restaurants or cafes that have such a lengthy list of rules aimed at children nor any chain restaurants for that matter. We have dined here previously, but left today before ordering anything due to how rude staff were and how uncomfortable we felt. Maybe they could save on the posters, the Alexa and the CCTV and just not allow children? But I guess that's their bread and butter? A strange way to run a business really.

Went today with 2 small people, reserved a table yesterday in the family room. The children loved chalking on the boards while waiting for their lunches, not a long wait at all, we had a large order, the children having a jacket potato, macaroni and home made chips, and me having a toasted scone and salad and dad a panini, posh coffee, hot chocolate and milkshakes and all for around £10 each including ginger breads. Fresh food, clean and nice staff. We then went around the farm to see the animals and saw 3 lambs brought into the world. What a lovely day.

Definitely the best breakfast around! I nipped in on the weekend for a full breakfast and I took few cakes away for my family. Soooo good. I was there with my young nephew so sat in the family room and he loved drawing on the chalkboard.. I love the fact there is a room just for adult and older children? working with kids a lot, I definitely appreciate the quieter area!

Visit regularly. Always good food and friendly service. Particularly love the ?no under 10?s? notice in the main dining area. Pity more eateries aren?t able to have a grownups only space. ?

After we had ordered and taken a seat we were told we would have to move to the full and very noisy family side as we had a child under 10 with us. Either that or sit outside (it's freezing). There was only one other couple in the side we were sitting, and our children were being very quiet and well behaved. Appalling customer service, we won't be back

The hot chocolate was one of the worse I have ever had! I love hot chocolate and try them every where I go. This was dark warm sugary water! The fry up was lovely however! The staff were two teenagers who need to be sent on a customer service course! Smile please!

A lovely cafe, the perfect place for a pre Christmas catch up with my Aunts. Coffee was great and the scones the best I?ve had in a long while, so light and tasty. Staff were lovely too!

Took our 3 grandsons in here today after visiting the farm. Was very busy but we didn't mind waiting as food was freshly cooked. Me and my husband had a mini breakfast each..2 youngest had childs breakfast and older one had chicken wraps with chips and salad. With the drinks came to £40 which we thought was very reasonable. Children all had ice cream or dessert with was £12
Kid-friendliness: Very good for children

I?ve been coming here for years with my mum and have never had any problems regarding food or staff. The food is delicious, especially the leek and potato soup which is to die for!! I would definitely recommend to everyone.

Visited today Thursday 7th March 2024 with wife and grandson aged 18months. Like the way the cafe has a childrens side laid out with tables , chairs and high chairs. Great menu and reasonable prices. We did have to wait a while for our drinks etc but there is a warning that service may be slow but we were ok with that. Only comment is that the Lattes weren't very strong. Will certainly go again
