TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AVOID !!!!
AUGUST 2025 !
Stayed one Saturday night for a family get together of eight for dinner, stop over and breakfast .
The room was hot and the fan provided was weak and broken . The stairs steep uneven and very dangerous loose carpet !
In my room the Toilet did not flush at all !
TV did not work !
My sister?s room the bathroom light didn?t work !
The Food was horrible - I ordered gnocchi at Dinner - too salty and indigestible !
Staff were quite rude and stuck up in particular the manageress on evening duty on the Saturday night and Sunday morning, she was very snobby, intimidating and talked down to us customers who were paying hundreds £££ to stay there and eat their disgusting food.
my poached eggs at breakfast were RAW and when l complained they were taken away , microwaved and returned to me soggy and inedible !
There are steep stairs everywhere, the fire escapes were rusty and dangerous . Very poor service and very expensive for absolute rot .
I would never recommend this pub/bespoke inn ( bespoke = joke!)

Rude Manager, average food, sandwiches serve with too much margarine or butter which ruin the flavour. Need better management

Lovely atmosphere and the perfect day to sit outside for lunch. Chose this place to meet as I had friends visiting from Melbourne Australia so it was brilliant.

Great pub. Rode from Derby on the National Cycling trail 6 - no cycle parking in Melbourne which stopped me purchasing lunch. ?

Had breakfast on weekday with friends. Really enjoyed my full English with Prosecco. Would definitely recommend.

As visitors to the area, we called in for a lunchtime drink. Ended up having a fish and chip lunch. It was lovely!!!

Didn?t stay in a room on our visit to Harpurs, so cannot attest to the quality of the rooms. But if they?re as good as the food and staff downstairs then I bet they?ll be very pleasing. Fish was ENORMOUS and fresh to boot. Chips were perfect and the stick toffee pudding to die for. Recommend 10/10 and will be going again.
