Should have been going today for my birthday meal, but the booking was cancelled without explanation. On ringing the bar manger explained that it was due to the place being turned into an events place for Christmas, even though this had been booked several months ago. It appears that Christmas greed has got the better of Amalfi White and they?re not interested in return bookings. Won?t be booking again. There?s plenty of much better restaurants around the area that pride themselves in their customer service. Promised the owner would ring us back, but never did, no apology, nothing. Shame on you spoiling someone?s birthday.

Booked a dinner for my husbands birthday for 5 and with out explanation it was cancelled. I booked it in September. I rang and was told the manager would call me. Nothing. Shoddy and very disappointing. Wheres the customer service? Its nothing but Christmas greed. I had heard it wasn't what it was but this just proves it. Very disappointing.

We were informed that our original venue was cancelled due to a flood 48hrs before the event, we contacted Amalfi White and they managed to accommodate us for a private dining event. Nigel and his team pulled out all the stops to make this a rememberable evening, customer care and service, as well as the food was 1st class, all of our guests commented on how the enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I visit Amalfi Whites regularly; it has always been a go to eatery for great food, service and drinks. However, on this occasion, AW did not meet its usual high standards. Before leaving a review I emailed the restaurant; I personally don?t like leaving negative reviews. However, the response I received from AW was in my opinion, was defensive and passive aggressive. Though, ended with the option of 2 free drinks on our next visit! The food was lovely. BUT, not up to the usual AW standards we have previously had. We have eaten at AW on more than 10 previous occasions and always been delighted with the food. Spending usually £150+ for 2 people. On this occasion, service was very slow and we had to go to the bar to obtain drinks. I understand that it was a busy period and if the restaurant is short staffed, tell the customer. People are usually sympathetic to this. However, restaurant service and paying a service charge, you should not need to go to the bar. Reading the recent reviews and sequential responses (below), is concerning; more from AW. AW responses are too defensive. Thank you AW for all the previous experiences. For now, we will not return.

Where to start? The food was phenomenal, I?ll take my hat off to the cheffing team for the absolutely mouth watering food. I had to myself the scallops followed by a wagyu burger finished off perfectly by a superb classic, the chocolate fondant; a simplistic desert made chic and delectable here at Amalfi. Every part was spot on, from the seared scallops, the crisp chips, beautifully cooked burger to the melt in the middle dark chocolate delight to finish off. A special thank you to our waitress Ludi for her fantastic and attentive service. Nothing was too big nor too small for her to handle with ease and prowess. Another thank you to Emma behind the bar for stirring up the evening with fantastic drinks and again an attentive service like no other. Lastly, thankyou the rest of the team here for making tonight something to truly remember. Nothing great comes without a cohesive team and the team here, is second to none. If you?re ever in town, this is the venue to visit. For drinks, dinner and an experience.

Attended a xmas party, and wow, I've never experienced such bad service, It was beyond disorganised. £55 a head for food that was delivered so randomly i thought it was comical! Out came the turkey and ham on a platter, with pork pie. Then about 15 minutes later out came some quiche. I think some cheese followed, with no crackers. I'm sure then a pot of potatoes came out 1/2 hour later. Cant quite remember it was that bizarre. Maybe the crackers followed at this point. Then some bread, no oil. Oh', the oil followed about 10 minutes later. Last but not least another 15 minutes or so later out came a jug of gravy. No desserts, these apparently were left on the top table near the DJ. No chips at the end of the night, although i'm told these were also left on a random table The food quality itself was actually quite nice, just ran by people whom don't know what they are doing. Oh, i did try and contact customer services to complain, still waiting on a reply. Considering this restaurant is highly recommended. Would i come here again.... that'd be a no. People must attend this restaurant because its expensive and the 'place to be seen'. I would have been better off having a plate of chips in the pub across the road.

Great food as always. We came with another couple for a nice evening but could not hear anything due to a very, very loud party sitting opposite. After mentioning the issue no-one asked them to keep it down and the person behind the bar said "what do you expect us to do! Having paid £264 for a main course, what a dreadful night.

Visited here for my mums 60th, we were seated in a lovely cute little private area, the only downside to this was a lot of random people opened the door thinking it was the toilet. Starters were a little disappointing - scallops were over cooked and really expensive Terrine was nice but only 1 small piece of toast, really think it should have 2, especially as the olives and bread ordered separately came with like a while baguette chopped up! Main dishes were fantastic, I had the Asian spiced chicken burger in bao buns and upgraded the fries to Parmesan fries - could not fault this one bit, so tasty and the sauce was fantastic! Others had the wagyu beef burgers which were equally as good and massive! The side of the lamb croquettes were absolutely delicious, so so tasty! You should add these to the main menu forever!! Daughter had the cheesecake and she said it was the best cheesecake she?s ever had. I recommend that you check the menu and prices before you visit here as it?s quite expensive. Worth it if you like nice food!

We booked Amalfi White to celebrate my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. My brother and I did a quick visit a few weeks before and were shown an area to have a private dinner for nine, Hannah also kindly arranged to have a cake made for us to save me sorting. We were given access at lunchtime on the day to decorate it and all staff on both occasions were super and helpful. We arrived in the evening for dinner with all the family and we were greeted by the fantastic Jess who looked after us all evening (along with some of the rest of the team at odd times when needed). The food and service were superb and after my parents got tired and we decided to do the cake at home, Hannah very kindly didn't charge us for it - i cannot praise her, Jess and the whole team enough. Thank you for making my very elderly parents celebration a massive success.

Visited Saturday 30th September to celebrate a birthday. Was very disappointed all round. Was seated in what appeared to be an alleyway where waiting staff would appear from behind me either side of my seat to let people pass. This was constant. People constantly stomping by. Ordered a port star martini which didn?t arrive with a shot of Prosecco, had to ask for this which was brought over. Scallops were tasty but very small which is not what we were expecting. The fillet steak was not a steak but came as sliced beef. The duck had little meat to it and was mostly duck fat which was revolting. What meat there was was tough. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut through it. The carrots and other vegetables although looked nice were what can only be described as being shown the heat. They were in the main raw and inedible. It didn?t help that the area was quite dark and you couldn?t see what you were doing. The waiting staff did not ask me if my meal was ok, merely took my plate away which was still full of inedible food. Extremely disappointed with the whole experience , given the price you pay and would not have expected this at all from an establishment such as this. Would not recommend.

Looks good but the food was well below average. Salted squid only tasted of salt. Lamb rump was completeley tasteless and could have been any meat. Panna Cotta only tasted of sugar. However the lady that served us was great.

Food was tasty, not reflective of the price however. Prices did not reflect the service, environment and atmosphere that one would expect for this kind of a price. Will not be returning for a meal.
