My brother and I were walking parts of the Peak district, so decided to stay at the Premier in Matlock for five nights. The accommodation and meals were excellent and the staff were outstanding, Breakfast staff were so helpful, and the two young ladies in the evening, namely Tara and Leah were over and above in their helpfulness, they worked well together and took real good care of the customers, I wish them well for the future, thankyou.

Good base for exploring the peaks if you have a car. EV charging available. Breakfast busy and quite simple. Room comfortable, clean and quiet.

Normal standard of room.
Wanted to book a table for the evening, but was told "No need to book as there is plenty of tables". We took the duty managers advice, but was faced with a 45 min wait as the restaurant was half full, but the kitchen could supply enough food for a full restaurant.
NO BAR. Fridge had bottles of soft drinks, but no beer or large.
A lot of the food items were unavailable. This was the same for both days of our stay.
WOULD I STAY HERE AGAIN? NO WAY.
IF THIS IS THE NEW STYLE OF HOTEL, THEN YOU CAN KEEP IT.

Spent 3 nights at Premier Inn Matlock. On the whole it was a pleasant experience. Staff always accommodated us for evening meal, when we made a last minute booking to have an evening meal.Cant fault breakfast service. Evening Meal was good, However seeing the chef use his hands to serve up food, and him not having a uniform on, was unprofessional. Maybe he needs an update on heath and hygiene when serving food. No complaints regarding food, just how it was served. Would stay again if in the area

I know it's a budget stay, but the smell of the rooms and corridors was really bad (like a musty stale mop water smell), it really affected me. Thank goodness for the air conditioning fan. Also why is it that the hotel desk put people in the very last room at the very top corner all the time! The only redeeming thing was the comfy bed, slept well considering the heavy sound of footsteps above (I got us moved to the 1st floor because of the smell), and the flashing lights from the leisure centre outside; the blackout curtains did a good job.

Tried several times to get in touch by phone, no one ever answered. Very poor customer service.

Rooms are pleasant and quiet but the hallways smelt as if someone had thrown up everywhere. Like a nightclub when it's empty. Breakfast was average but the dinner menu was very boring and massively overpriced for what is on offer. Staff at check in were friendly and helpful. Server in dining area needs to give a bit of time for people to make a decision on what they want and not hover over them constantly asking if they were ready.
