So decided to eat here and to be fair the service was ok nothing to write home about. The meals are ok again the mushy peas are watery same with the fish chips were good and gravy was spot on. Portions are good but for the love of god do not spend money on the Pie you get naff all complete rip off. I would go again but defo not ordered pie again saying that the other places I eat on there is better

Awesome breakfast. Well cooked and presented. It arrived in minutes too, I was well impressed by that; though it was a quite Sunday morning. The waitress even allowed to pour a cup of tea from the pot and then she refilled it for me. Prices are reasonable considering the great service and food provided. Will visit again. Highly recommend.

Just stopped in for a full English which I think is always judged by the sausages and bacon. This brekky was fabulous and I will never make fried bread again because this was the best ever. Super value for money as well, was served quickly and with a welcoming smile ? thank you

I regularly have meals at this restaurant.
I have enjoyed the quality of the food and the wonderful customer service.
It is located in the very popular promenade in Matlock Bath.

Took my son here for breakfast, it was 5 star. Huge full English breakfast. Amazing people working here. Would definitely recommend and revisit

My recent visit to Charles wasn't a good one. I ordered pie, chips, and mushy peas. The pie was tiny, the chips were undercooked, and the mushy peas were the worst I've ever had. Don't bother.

They must have used the smallest pig to make the world's smallest sausages in my butty. There was more bread than anything. Good service but won't be returning.

Stopped here on a Monday lunchtime, lovely homemade food. We had the lasagne & the beef pie, both delicious. The drinks were served at the right temperature & the pinot was lovely.
Service was prompt & professional & the restaurant very clean. Also very reasonably priced, £34 for 2 meals, one beer, one coke &
A large wine ?
Outside dining too, which was a bonus on a sunny day.
Definitely recommend & we will return.
