Went Friday 21 March for a second time because our earlier experience when we had Chateau Briand was so fantastic, only to find that the menu had changed. So we had to settle for fillet steak (which in itself was lovely, but?) only served with 6 fried cherry tomatoes, half a roasted garlic, and about 6 tiny lettuce leaves with a dressing. To follow we had a dry gooey cheesecake. Not nice at all. I guess they are cutting costs but this second meal was very poor and the complete opposite to our previous experience. We left feeling very disappointed. BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A NEW MENU.

Waited 40 minutes for my burnt pizza. Brought two side salad dishes but hubby had ordered chips. The waitress told us to keep the extra salad. My pizza then arrived 10 minutes later with Hubby chips. The waitress didnt check if this pizza was ok but luckily it was. No interaction. I went to pay and they apologised and took 25% off the bill. We was told that this had happened due to the offer being on but its always on a wednesday. Such a shame as it is usually really good.
Parking: Paid parking until after 6pm.

Visited on Friday night at 7pm, it was practically empty, but got put on a wobbly table right in front of the kitchen service. Waitress?s were OK, got asked the same question a couple of times by different people, and seemed put out we did not order starters or from the wine list.
We ordered the chateaubriand for two people for £60, with chips, ?seasonal? veg, peppercorn sauce and Stilton sauce, which was included in the £60.
When I say the portions were small, approximately between two people, there were 3 chips, 3 slices of steak, mushroom and a tomato each. Seasonal veg consisted of sugar snap peas and lettuce.
The steak was OK but not for the price charged.
Room was nicely decorated but felt cold in temperature and design.
Overall disappointing.

Nice food. Could be bigger portions. Pork belly. Just that really. Nicely done but simple. Beef duo. Rib excellent, but smallish. Cottage pie served in a container. Not much else on the plate. Diced beef in pie, not enough of it. Cheesecake was more of a biscuit with a sauce on top. Needed a fork to break it up. Room is big, not very personal. Staff seemed to be in a hurry, but cocktails still took 10 - 20 minutes to appear. The disco in the room above was just about audible towards the end of the meal. Maybe we were spoilt by our recent visit to Spain where quality and service are good in even the smallest, cheapest places. £175 for 3 people is an awful lot of money, and while that is fine for some celebrations it does need to be a step above the ordinary. This place is, but not enough of a step.

Exceptional! My husband,Mother-in law & I have just had a Sunday lunch at The Butcher in Long Eaton. Food outstanding, big portions, beautifully cooked, hot, an actual gravy boat, not a sample sized drizzle! Cotton napkins & a big bowl of cauliflower cheese for us all to dig into. The Staff are so welcoming, calm & happy. It really comes over that they all enjoy working there. Very organised & smooth running of the whole place. It is not over stimulating- by this I mean loads of noise, loud music, over crowded, stressed staff, waiting for ages etc. No it is the exact opposite- it feels like you have gone round to their house & are all just one big happy, full family. I cannot recommend it enough & the price for what you got - well I don?t know how they do it. Just Amazing. A Huge Well Done to everyone who is part of the team, you?re doing everything perfectly- don?t change. Thank you ? Hels

The food is amazing! Brilliant quality, filling and the flavours work together well. It's always a good sign when the food makes everyone go quiet. The selection of drinks is eclectic and excellent quality. The staff were so attentive, welcoming and genuine. I even overheard a lovely interaction between a member of staff and someone's child. Definitely recommend eating here.

We have been regular customers for years the food is outstanding not only in the quality of the steak but the whole meal this includes the sunday dinner which is a must. And the pizza evening on a Wednesday is fantastic value The staff are amazing professional and friendly it?s rare to find people now days that actually care about the role that they perform. We can?t recommend this restaurant enough
Parking: Council car park very nearby sometimes free and free parking near the building

We came across this steakhouse just by chance after the gym and omg what a find. We had the chateaubriand steak for 2 and just wow maybe the best steak ever, truffle butter and the nicest triple cooked chips.
Honestly everything was just perfect the decor, the staff, my mouth is watering just thinking of coming back.

There was a lot of us, unfortunately it reminded of a Christmas dinner where there having to cater for a lot of people, meal cold and underwhelming, but lovely place, service was the best service we have ever had anywhere, staff were lovely, will come back and hope we have a better experience with the food.
