Booked my car in for a free brake check and the car has the brakes for life guarantee. Told by the gentleman that the brakes for life cannot be transferred to the new owner (myself) and stays with the person who purchased the brakes for life (previous owner). I've owned this car for around 7 years.
I have already had the brake pads replaced at the ilkeston autocenter under the brakes for life guarantee but now told its not covered.
The gentleman told me to check the terms and conditions which I had already and copy and pasted below from halfords website.
What happens if I change my car?
Brakes4Life is transferable to all future cars you may own. If you change your car, just visit your local Halfords garage within 30 days for a Free Brake Check and we?ll transfer the lifetime replacement across.
If you sell your car to a new owner, you can also choose to transfer your Brakes4Life lifetime replacement guarantee along with the car.
There are some terms and conditions apply when transferring your Brakes4Life lifetime replacement to another car. For full details, see below.
I'll be filing a claim with the small claims court now for the cost of replacing the brakes at another garage

Had my van booked in for a service, explained to them that it isn?t LWB however they still seemed to have no idea but finally gave me the go ahead.
Arrived at 8am on the day I was booked in but I was told they already have 3 vans in today and cannot promise mine will be done today. This frustrated me as I had to book the day off in order to get it booked in. So I?ve now lost out on money for nothing.
I do not recommend coming here unless you fancy being let down last minute literally.

Booked in paid £25 for puncture repair only to be told not able to do till later. What is the point of an appointment. Any way drove to Ilkeston tyres £5 for repair and no wait.

Great customer service, friendly, and speedy for my MOT! The team were very understanding that I had gone to the wrong halfords in Ilkeston, and then still managed to get lost following my navigation system. Will definitely return (early next time)!

Had a thorough check on my brakes.. I cannot fault the workmanship.Excellent communication by the front of office staff. Explaining all the details of work that needed carrying out.It's difficult to assess if this garage is any more expensive than others as this would depend on getting quotes for the same work.But having had a few new parts fitted.. I was very satisfied with their standard of work.

Excellent service from friendly staff, I had 4 new tyres fitted in 30 mins whilst I waited. I could also overhear the young lady on reception offering good friendly impartial advice to customers on the phone and in person, very impressed.
