Staff are friendly and helpful.
There was an issue involving the new system they are operating on which meant that they couldn't issue a voucher. However when we left for another shop on the other end of the center one cashier ran to find us and let us know the issue is resolved. I went back to the store and finished the transaction which saved me coming back the next day.
Overall 10/10 service and whatever the guys name is who was working on 14/2/2025 at 4pm is awesome.

Dreadful service from the Ilkeston CEX store - I bought my son a switch lite, got home and it wouldn't even turn on - took it back upgraded to a standard switch which was great until a few days in we noticed the memory card port wasn't working.
We took it back to be told it had been bent , dropped and the screen was damaged so they void the warranty, beyond repair apparently - CEX do NOT have an actual person you can call to complain to.
I fixed the memory card port in 15mins following a YouTube tutorial the switch has been perfect since ... Truth is they are incompetent and make up faults to void warranties.
IF YOU READ THE REPLY THEY CLEARLY HAVE NOT LISTENED TO WHAT IVE WROTE HERE , SUGGESTING I REPAIRED RATHER THAN TAKE IT BACK UNDER WARRANTY - I DID TAKE IT BACK UNDER WARRANTY (THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR) THEY VOID MY WARRANTY SAYING WE HAD BENT AND BROKEN IT BEYOND REPAIR - ONLY AFTER THAT DID I REPAIR MYSELF - ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW POOR CEX CUSTOMER SERVICE IS

Ilkeston CEX is single handedly the best CEX to go to - consistently good. Connor is who we usually tend to see and he is always so accommodating and friendly. He is super knowledgeable on what they have in store and gives honest and unbias advice. The new 5 year warranty is fantastic and I always buy my phones and gadgets from here.

Just bought a chrome book one of the cheapest they sell. They were really amazing, im not computer savvy just wanted something to read emails and YouTube. Hardly a valuable transaction but they really cared. Thank you very much. It works just as you said it would.
Very pleased.
Highly recommend anyone to at least go in and give them a chance.

Sell poor quality screen protectors then when phones stops working for other reasons blame dropped phone. No 24 month warranty. Its a scam. Phone battery bad, screen protector damage was before phone stopped
working. Never ever buy a phone here! Ive bought 20 secondhand phones from shops like this and they all die randomly.
When i said the battery was bad not the screen they said ?we dont change the batteries?. Mmmm
And to top it off whatsapp wont work on yhe phone we just bought from them today before this fiasco ?blocked because of spam?
Terrible customer service. I took the phone in and showed a member of staff and said i couldnt find the receipt. He said to check my bank statement and corn back in. He saw that the screen protector was cracked and removed it. No damage to phone. and said i could return it. So i went home and told my 10 year old son he could return the phone that stopped charging a few months after we bought it. Went back in with the phone and bank details and suddenly they said i could not return it because of their low quality screen protectors! Bad battery not broken screen! Screen and phone was in perfect condition. Ive dropped my own phone loads of times and it hasnt effected the battery!!! Never ever buying anything here ever again!!!

dont pay £10 for their low quality screen protectors. If the battery is bad and you dropped your phone lightly months before but phone working till then, they will blame their cracked screen protector on phone not working. they dont replace batteries. avoid!!!! buy elsewhere!!!
