I was in Ilkeston for the day and spotted Birds bakery and seen their tempting selection of cakes. The apple and blackcurrant pies were absolutely yummylicious as I'm sure any other choice would have been too. 1000% recommended.

The staff at Birds Ilkeston are truly first class, they always provide an excellent service.
I have been coming here for many years to collect my mother's orders twice weekly and have consistently received a friendly, professional and efficient service.
They always ask after my mother, which is above and beyond in my book, and have always ensured that her order us ready for collection.
My mum likes certain types of bread due to her condition and Birds are one of the few places that provide what she can eat.
There products sell quickly due to the quality and service provided, so I recommend getting there early to get the best choice.
An excellent local business for the town.
Vegetarian options: They have excellent quality vegetarian products.
Dietary restrictions: They have products that meet various dietary needs, the staff are happy to explain what they gave and will reserve them to order if needed.
Parking: Gregory Street car park is the closest, but you can also park in any of the ones behind the precinct or cinema, all of which are within walking distance.
Kid-friendliness: It's Bird's lol, they sell cakes and pastries, kids love them. The staff are excellent at the Ilkeston branch and make everyone feel welcome.
Wheelchair accessibility: The Ilkeston store has a flat entrance making it easy to access. The inside of the store is laid out in a way that allows for a wheelchair to easily navigate around everything.

Birds Caramel Doughnuts are to die for and the Pork Pies are one of the best. This is my own personal opinion, everyone who has tried the Bird's Caramel Doughnuts have agreed How mice nice they are.December 2020 collect our Large Bird Pork Pie for Christmas, they only make this size pie at Christmas. Christmas Eve at treat with a piece of that Pork Pie
