Absolutely lovely afternoon! Came with our friends (who are getting married here in a month) for a Sunday lunch ? superb food and superb service from our waitress, Bethan! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice spot after a Sunday hike :)

Fantastic place. Excellent customer service, with a special mention to Tarnya, Evie & Reece for making our stay exceptional. We really enjoyed our stay, so much so that we came back a week later !! Well done, everyone. We'll be back soon !Noteworthy details: Another fantastic stay. Breakfast was fantastic ( as always ). Hubby & our friends had the full English, I had the continental which is so filling. The staff are very professional & friendly. Our rooms were lovely & our friends were very impressed & we all can't wait to visit again.

Great stay at the Maynard. Stayed for 1 night, had dinner & breakfast in the property as well.The room was spacious, really like the amenities provided as part of the stay. The bathroom was spacious but quite noisy - both noise from the main road and the pipe noise that started every so often.Love the radio in the room, the low whisper of music in the background set the atmosphere.Dinner was good, there was the 30% off main course offer in January. My husband originally opted for the sirloin steak but sadly it was sold out at 7pm so went for the burger instead.Hearty breakfast served in the morning, really pleased with the quality of the full English breakfast.Overall it was a great stay.Food & drinks: Great food.

Unpleasant stayMar 2024On our arrival at 14.10 on Saturday 2nd March we stood in the reception area waiting while the check in lady was on the phone without looking up once to acknowledge us standing in front of her for at least 10-15mins finally | asked one of the staff who had passed us several times in the very small reception foyer, is there only 1 person on check in duty and she rudely replied I will be with you shortly Finally we get asked for our name and get told check in is at 15.00 and I can take your luggage for keeping till then Very unwelcoming!!Also check your food and drink bill as we were overcharged and our waiter told us to bear with him while he finds out why the price charged was not the price in the menu He then proceeded to try tell us that there is a mistake on the menu and will get the manager on duty to reverse it saying his pricing was correct and the menu is wrongInstructions need to be left in the room as to how to adjust the heating and shower water temperature as there are no phones to call house keeping for assistance, hence our room was cold and so was our morning shower Not a pleasant stay at all

It was just so so nice. Came on a Sunday night after a walk and were so pleasantly surprised by our room. Big TV with all streaming services, bathtub, coffee & biscotti, bathrobes, and a really nice view. We were on the second floor by the stairwell and we found it super quiet. The included breakfast was GREAT but the Sunday Roast was a little bit of a letdown. However, the rest of the regular dinner menu did look great. Would really love to come back.Walkability: 7 minute walk from train and easy access to multiple walking trails

We visited a year ago and loved the hotel, we stayed with our dog. We booked to go again this week with our dog and made clear in the comments that we required a dog friendly room, no one phoned to confirm that they are no longer dog friendly. This wasn't made clear upon booking the room and have now had to cancel, I asked 2 cancel both rooms booked but only refunded me for one which I had to chase a refund. This is such a large change to a recently dog friendly hotel that should be made a lot clearer when booking. I have also been told I have to wait a few weeks for my refund which isn't really good enough.

We have eaten here many times, but this was our first stay overnight. It will not be our last. The place itself has a great location, and there is ample free parking ( guests & visitors only by number plate cameras) . The pub has bags of charm & character. Staff are excellent. The room was spotlessly clean with everything you needed, tastefully decorated to a high standard. The bar is well stocked with plenty of quality ales, including Abbeydale Moonshine. Last but not least, the food was fabulous. Best full English I have had in a while. You will need a walk after eating it ! Look forward to returning. The bonus prize is that the prices are very reasonable.

Excellent food. A little minty perhaps for what is after all a posh pub. But this keeps the Harhersage holiday makers away ( Bonus ). Nice staff, good parking, excellent food and drink.

Evening meal and a catch up with friends.Dog friendly and the food was delicious. Really good portion sizes. We plan on visiting in the summer when the weather is better.

Large table available straight away, good food, good service. welcoming to walkers, and 30% off some menu items. If I'm in the area again I would like to go back.
