First class accommodation in beautiful rooms that are spotless. Only a few yards from pubs and eateries. Phil is a great host. No hesitation to recommend.

Such a warm, welcoming place to stay. Phil the host was very accommodating. Nicely situated. Very quite. Phil no longer offers breakfast but there are tea/coffee making facilities and snacks in the room. Loved our stay and will definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

We booked Causeway House because of favourable reviews on Tripadvisor and it lived up to what we had expected. The room was clean, tidy and well appointed, with in room coffee & tea making facilities, together with biscuits. We had chosen the room with the four poster bed and my wife and I slept better than we do at home. Only minor negatives were that Castleton, when we arrived, was heaving with visitors, making it difficult to access the house's car park and once outside it was difficult to walk on the pavement due to the crowds. Needless to say the roads were also very busy, which was a little intrusive if the window at the front of the room was left open. This was though on a hot summer Sunday. By Monday morning the crowds and traffic had abated changing the feel of the town completely. Unfortunately, due to a health issue, we had to reluctantly curtail our stay, but Phil was very understanding and insisted on reducing the bill for the time booked for our stay. There was no TV in our room, but this was an incentive to have an early night and strangely didn't miss it at all. Phil couldn't have been more helpful in all respects. If only all hotels were run as well!

Causeway House is a delightful place to stay. We used it as a base from which to explore the historic town of Castleton. The host, Phil was very welcoming and we quickly felt at home; nothing was too much trouble. Our very spacious room was extremely comfortable and authentically furnished to suit the 15th Century building; the ensuite bathroom was an added bonus. These features plus freshments and snacks in the room made our stay comfortable and extremely enjoyable. We would love to return.

We stayed over valentines weekend in the four poster bedroom, the room was huge and had all the amenities we could ask for! There?s a lovely view from the front window and it was nice and warm even with some stormy weather! The bed is huge and very comfortable, bathroom was perfectly clean and had a lovely shower. Phil was incredibly helpful and responsive to anything we needed as well as providing recommendations & tips for the local area! I?ve attached some pictures below but they still don?t do the room justice, would highly recommend to anyone visiting Castleton or the Peak District in general - it?s close to everything you need :)

Stopped before in summer so we made sure we booked with Phil the owner direct straight away for the Saturday night in December. Had the 4 poster bedroom with en-suite shower and tea/coffee making facilities which was lovely and very roomy at just £10 more than the other double bedroom. Great stay again right in the centre of Castleton with free parking thanks to our friendly host.

Great cozy, no frills stay right in the center of Castleton. Parking was tight but worked perfectly for us since we didn?t need to leave and return being in such a prime location. Phil was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

I booked the four poster room for me and my partner as he wanted to go to Castleton for the weekend. I booked over the phone with Phil with no problem. The room is lovely, there?s no tv but it was actually quite nice and peaceful without one! However if I?d known I?d have taken a book. Phil doesn?t do breakfasts anymore so we had to find somewhere that was open, on a Saturday it was a surprise that there was only one cafe open before 10am. It?s a large room with a decent shower, and it?s so quiet! I?d definitely stay again, really enjoyed it.
