Loverly food and fantastic service. Only down side is that it's a little cramped. We sat on right as you came in . Thete are 4 tables seating 4 people on each. There is not much room, especially with a log burner on. If you sat on the back, then you had to get everyone else to move so you could go to the bar or the loo. We had a couple with a little one in a highchair, so that made it even more cramped. Make 2 of the tables into just 2 so people won't feel so hemmed in.Unable to comment on rooms only went for a meal.

Characterful, warm pub with log burners. Quiet apart from the loud pub-telephone constantly ringing. We just had drinks & we were served by a friendly, welcoming, young lady for the best part of our visit.

Steak night January 2024.Faultless food.Faultless service.Noteworthy details: Beautiful old building.Above average (by a mile) food.The Old Hall source high quality local produce. If you eat beef or lamb there, they will have bought the whole animal and will use it all. No waste. Not sure about the horns, watch out for Desperate Dan Pie.

Food & drinks: A lovely old pub,car parking, attentive service, nice range of food and drinks. We've been before without an issue, but we're disappointed with our more recent meal: One of the beers served was vinegary, which they did replace without argument for free. The meat based meals were very good, but less so the vegetarian meals: the roast vegetable tart was served too cool, and was really quite a small portion-more like a starter- it should have been bigger or served with more vegetables as an inclusive side dish; the risotto was a substantial bowl of yellow rice, with nothing else- no other vegetables or textures. The puddings were also excellent.I guess my message is, vegetarians need more consideration!

What can I say, this is a top hotel, staff are wonderful, The hotel and food are top notch. The sister pub The Papermill is on the same level. You won't be disappointed. Spent New Years Eve 2023 there.
