We stayed in a cottage for the week, just round the corner from this place(June25).
Couldn't be happier with the prices, beer, food and service.
All staff, including the couple that ran the place were incredibly welcoming and fun to talk to.
We'll definitely be visiting again. ?

We ate here last week as a family of 10, the service was equally as amazing as the food!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the kids had a great time and the adults too.

We stopped for lunch when passing through. Couldn?t have wanted for a better delicious home cooked meal. Food was fantastic quality and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming, we highly recommend this place.

Came here for dinner, the bar was a bit slow but when we sat down for food it came very first. Servers were nice and the starters were very tasty but unfortunately one of our mains was lukewarm. Even so, it was an enjoyable experience and the atmosphere is welcoming. I especially like the general scent of the place as it feels very autumnal!
Maybe we will come again and up this review after trying more of the mains.

Open for food on Monday evenings . Husband said steak and ale pie was really good. My pasta dish was really flavoursome. Friendly helpful staff. Quick and effective service. Dog and children friendly

Ate in the garden. Same price as the pub menu but had it served in cardboard boxes with wooden take away cutlery. If I?d wanted an over priced take away I?d of booked a deliveroo. No idea why it couldn?t come on a plate just because we were in the garden.

I rang to book a table for my Granddaughter's 18th birthday for 8 adults i was told they couldn't accommodate a table for 8 people so book 2 tables for 4, i pointed out we wanted to sit together so could they push the 2 tables of 4 together she said no there wasn't enough room to do that. Lost our custom, we booked the Charles Cotton.

Met with daughter and partner for a meal, they had come over to camp nearby .
We only live half hour away , why haven't we discovered this fab place before ?
The staff are so friendly and that's lovely from the start .
Quirky place with historic features .
Good food, lovely atmosphere .
We were not staying here so cannot comment on rooms .

We visited here recently as we were staying in the area. Devonshire was lovely, food was excellent, staff were great and enjoyed the great selection of cask ales. Will definitely be back very soon.

Popped in for a bite to eat while we were out.
Lovely pub.
Lovely bar maid, very helpful.
Decent selection of drinks.
Not a bad menu, we had burgers and sat outside the front in the sun.
The food was great.

Stopped here for a meal yesterday early evening after a lovely walk with my wife, grown up sons and their girlfriends (6 of us) Great pub with a lovely dining room. The food was superb (I recommend the steak and ale pie and sticky toffee pudding) and the service from all the staff was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

The food was surprisingly good. It actually had that properly cooked feel rather than the 'bookers plus microwave' experience that is all too common. My Salmon pesto pasta oven bake was lovely. The wine I had was also excellent value. Staff very friendly. Recommended.
