Since they've had new people running it it's gone massively downhill I've just got a mini fish, I asked for a kids chips as I don't like a lot of chips and peas.......what I got was the smallest fish I've ever seen in my life and a massive tray of chips covered in peas, the fish wasn't the best, I couldn't be bothered goin down and telling them which I'd normally do because I was that annoyed I'll never go there again, £8.50 for a tiny fish with a massive portion of chips and peas ? never again

We are new to the area and are currently renovating a house. Our favourite lunch treat has to be Billy's Plaice. Absolutely lovely food. I'm not a fan of chip shop sausage but their's are really good quality and freshly cooked. Their fish is gorgeous. The staff and owners are really nice and welcoming. I can highly recommend. Can't wait til we have finished renovating so that we can take our time and eat in.

DO NOT EAT FROM HERE we came here for the first time yesterday and will never EVER return. The pie's insides were burnt black and the pastry was rock solid, could not even cut it with a knife. the puddings we ordered had a dark orange burn to them tasted stale and had been taken out of the foil, placed in a tray and were squashed. The curry sauce had chip sized thick gelatine bits in making it inedible and the chip portion was laughable. The service takes ages, 20 min wait with 1 person in front of us in the queue. absolutely disgusting, I do not recommend

I am so disappointed with the food from here ,I last went 2 years ago ,we've since moved to Wales. Staying in the area , I looked forward to a chip based supper . The chips were refried without a doubt, only just warm by the time I got them to my sons, the portion was ridiculously small, level with the tray sides, £2.80!!! , I even questioned the girl ,she said that was the portion !!! They were horrible and left most of mine as they were inedible.
I used to be a regular customer ,my grandchildren had their dinners bought from there most Thursdays . The chips (always hot) were lovely ,as was the fish... the portion sizes fair ..
Will definitely not be going again... nearly went to the Indian takeaway Rajni opposite. I wish I had !

Visiting our old stomping ground from south Wales. Thought we'd get a chip dinner from our regular Billy's, when we lived here. How disappointing. £2.80 for a miniscule tray of chips, that didn't appear freshly cooked, looked to be refried. The curry sauce was okey, but that's bought in.
I'll avoid this place in the future. Never again.

Visited hadfield this afternoon with a friend. It was my first visit. I heard about Billy's plaice Me and my friend had a sit down meal. The food was tasty and well prepared. The lady who served us on the till was very polite and professional so were her colleagues. I cannot recommend Billy's plaice highly enough. Anyone visiting Hadfield should pay a visit to Billy's plaice they will not be disappointed. ??

Excellent Food, ordered in the chippy and cooked fresh. Really nice fish with just the right amount of batter and lovely chips. Enjoyed every mouthful
