This is a wonderful hotel with a beautifully laid out dining room. The staff are all 5*. I had a table for 4 on Sunday, for lunch. Sadly we were the only people there. Equally sadly the roast beef was not up to their normal high standard. Sorry, folks at the Chantry. I know you are looking for a chef, and I look forward to returning when they're in residence...

Have been here previously and has been good, but went for a christmas dinner at lunchtime, chose turkey, and it was virtually inedible, it was lumps of gristle, yorkshire pudding was soggy and vegetables poor. Christmas pudding was cold in middle. Other members of our party said same. Told waitress who told manager who just came out to hear our complaints but didn?t do anything about it, was £28 for 2 courses and was terrible-avoid at all costs!

Nice place and very nice staff. However no beers on tap and the price for a can was very expensive ?

We had lunch in the conservatory which looks out onto the large garden which even in winter was really nice. The staff are amongst the most welcoming and friendly people you could ask for. The food was great and nicely presented. I'm still waxing lyrical about their wonderful mashed potato which were delicious and some of the best I think I've ever had. The other components of my meal were good but the potato was great. This restaurant is one I would recommend. Whilst it was quiet when we went I would book in advance as I understand it gets quite busy.

I went for lunch today with two friends. Honestly its such a lovely place. We were in the conservatory and it was warm and cosy and had that " loungy" " home from home" feeling. You don't get that in most of the other coffee places in Dronfield. Tables are usually crammed together with uncomfortable chairs. These chairs are upholstered and really comfy...which is fantastic when you have a bad back! The coffee is strong and how coffee should taste..and I am very picky! It was lovely to look out of the window and see beautiful greenery and vibrant coloured flowers...even saw a squirrel.Michael the owner is really friendly and listening to his stories about the history of The Chantry as we were leaving was captivating.I would also feel comfortable going there with a book on my own.I had a bacon, brie and cranberry panini...really tasty with a side salad and french dressing...If you want an "experience" then I would go here. Its a much welcome change from modern, cold, minimalist places and has a charm that can only come from years and years of history. It's somewhere that ticks the box that no other place round here does.We will be back soon!Food & drinks: Reasonably priced and tasty

Stayed at the chantry for the 1st time , was a very clean place with lovely people who made you so welcome . Rooms were very dated , but understanding the history of this place And the people that owned it , wow it has some fantastic memories. And would be such a shame to change . Breakfast was fab .

What a lovely peaceful, tranquil place, we had breakfast in the conservatory which overlook the pretty gardens. A nostalgic setting especially for local people. The service was superb, just the right amount of attention , friendly efficient and welcoming. All the staff we met seemed approachable and well trained. We chose the full English breakfast and that didn?t disappoint either. Everything hot and cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Plenty of parking spaces. We loved it and will be back soon to try the lunch menu. Thank you to team Chantery for making our visit very very pleasant.
