The staff are always busy and unfriendly. If there is a problem with the self-checkout, you have to wait too long.

Incompatent staff. Only one staff member on tills and that's at the tobacco till which is the only non self-service so long wait time when you need aproval on the self service tills. Rude, incompetent and insensitive staff. I now dread going into this Tesco and avoid it where possible after the incident I had.
Edit: Also this Tesco is not trans friendly despite having the label that it does

Handy shop, good selection for the size, fair prices.
Occasionally takes ages to get stuff approved on the self-serve tills, I think my record is about 10 minutes, do the people working disapprove of people buying energy drink, medicines, etc.?
One or two people working on tills look like they're both sucking a lemon and chewing a wasp, though others friendly.

Its not the staff fault but the store has been gutted. No staffed tills at all except the tobacco station. No staff manning the self service either. So if you need approval you have to stand and wait for what could be a long time.

I normally shop at this Tesco, some of the staff is great but theres one or two which I'd rather not name but are extremely rude, I truly do not understand how someone working in customer service could speak to a customer that way even if you're having a bad day. From reading other reviews I can see I'm not the first that has experienced this staff member being rude. Although there are a couple bad eggs some of the staff there are true gems, always kind and helpful and I appreciate them so much, they don't deserve this review but the others really do.
Another complaint is the que time for the tills, the wait is either in non existent because theres no other customer or takes ages if theres a line because theres rarely more than 1 person at the tills.

I?d like to complain about this store because the staff are extremely rude. I?m not happy with the way they treat customers and I feel someone needs to review the staff in the store. Reading the reviews it seems there?s a common theme of them being miserable. I came to collect a click and collect parcel with a proof of delivery picture from the courier. The girl told me it wasn?t on the system so I asked if she didn?t mind just checking the parcels in front me as this was delivered 2 days ago so it should be here. She was rude and did not want to check the parcels and I asked her if I can have someone else to help me if she wasn?t willing to simply check. she responded saying ?what do you want me to do about it? rolling her eyes and walked off as someone else came to help and continued to discuss me with another colleague in front of me. I wanted to simply ensure my parcel was amongst the other parcels and the other guy came and checked but still concluded it wasn?t. They were not thorough and were rude, I asked if I could speak to a manger and he said I am the manger last time I checked. The place is not well run, even if it was a mistake of the courier the attitude was unacceptable and unnecessary. I don?t need to come into a store feeling bad tensions and just not being able to simply be served properly. I?ve never seen anything like it and would?ve wanted to report this further as the people who work there really just don?t know anything about customer service and it?s a real shame.

Went there many times still same the problem with the only one staff black man he is very rute guy none of the good manes as all !!!! not good if you have staff like him to be working here why don't you find better staff to working ??

FAO Asuni from Tesco Express Derby St Peters Street - great customer service on several occasions - thoughtful, helpful, with a friendly attitude, top marks from a regular customer!

The cashier is terrible. At work, he has a bad attitude towards customers. He never once smiled at a customer.
