my advice is avoid Nationwide!!!! had a cash-builder account & they decided to close it because i didn't respond 2 a letter the account had £700 in it this was 3 weeks ago.. spoken 2 1 manager on the phone been into this branch twice and yet they still haven't returned my money... absolutely disgusting and criminal to take my money!!!!!!!.... Just seen your response asking me to call into the branch or contact you... why? what's the point you do absolutely nothing!!!! I'll be closing my accounts very soon!!!.

I was on the fence about closing my account but I definitely will be. Went in to pay some change. Not much just about 70 but Simon was not happy about it. He said they'd have to be cash bags filled with their individual denomination. I had sorted into denominations but there wasn't enough of each to fill a bag. The attitude I got after this was awful. I even offered to go elsewhere but he obviously begrudgingly did it. I'll be switching to Monzo so I feel like less of an inconvenience in future
