Yup this is what £37 looks like in a bin. This restaurant is lucky they don?t get a lot of asians coming in otherwise the rating would not be more than 2 stars because we know what this food is supposed to taste like. Congratulations you fooled me with 4.6 stars. I hope this review helps(the customers).
I don?t know how to reply to your reply to my review, ok to clarify what was wrong with the food.
1. The aloo gobi(cauliflower and potato) sabji was a disaster, let me tell you how. Number one the gobi was under cooked it was still hard to chew and nobody had the curtesy to peel the potatoes before putting them in and no one puts degi mirch in this dish to make it red, the only spice that should be used to colour it is turmeric.
2. The chicken kali mirch had almost a sweet flavour which might be because of whatever used to thicken up the curry but that is why black pepper is used in this dish and sufficient salt is used to balance out the black pepper. I was literally so hungry coming back from work that i literally just picked meat out of it to eat and left the curry.
3. Your naan bread literally felt like those packaged naans off grocery stores, they were so soggy, brittle and sweet, i couldn?t eat more than half of it and let me tell you i can eat atleast 3 of them when they are good.
4. The chapati?s i wouldn?t feed them to a dog if i had one. The dough for a chapati is only made from whole grain wheat flour preferably with lower level of gluten. A freshly made soft sticky dough and a thin rolled chapati that should fluff up when cooked is called a chapati. Yours was cooked on high flame making it overcooked on the outside and undercooked from the inside. A chapati when held between your thumb and middle finger should be able to break apart a piece using just your index finger. When you have to use both your hands to do this then you can relate to a person serving a life sentence in a correctional facility.
5. Your salad was not fresh, it was dead. It was soggy and just some lettuce leaves and a tomato for a salad, is a disaster on its own.
6. We liked your momos, my wife had 2 and i had 2. I wish we had more.
Honestly i feel like i should cook this order myself at home and bring it to you, so that you know what it is supposed to taste and look like.

It?s always a pleasant night at ghurka junction with the best food I?ve tasted and always hot and to our liking. You can?t beat this place for value for money that?s why we visit once a week where we can. The staff cannot do enough for you and there to help you decide if you?re not sure of what you fancy and there is quite a lot to choose from. That?s why we highly recommend this place and take family and friends for all occasions.

Amazing Experience at Gurkha Junction, Spondon!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gurkha Junction in Spondon, and I can confidently say this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From start to finish, everything was simply outstanding.
We began with a selection of starters, including Onion Bhaji, Chicken Sekuwa, and the Masu Platter. Each dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and served hot. The Chicken Sekuwa, in particular, was incredibly tender, and the Masu Platter was a perfect combination of different meats?an ideal choice for sharing.
For our main course, we opted for a variety of dishes: Chicken Kadhai, Lamb Rifle, Vegetable Biryani, and Chicken Kali Mirch. We requested them to be prepared Indian-style spicy, and the chef did an excellent job. Each dish was packed with authentic spices and rich flavors. The Chicken Kali Mirch had the perfect balance of black pepper and spice, while the Lamb Rifle was cooked to perfection?juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. The Vegetable Biryani was fragrant and flavorful, with the right amount of heat.
Now, let me talk about the breads?we ordered Naan, Chapati, and Roti, and I was blown away by the texture and flavor. These were some of the best naans and chapatis I?ve ever had. The naans were soft yet slightly crispy on the edges, and the chapati had a perfectly light and fluffy texture?completely different from the packaged ones you find in stores. Every bite was a delight!
Overall, Gurkha Junction has truly raised the bar for quality and authenticity in every dish they serve. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for genuine, flavorful, and delicious Indian and Nepali cuisine.
Thank you, Gurkha Junction, for a memorable meal! I?ll definitely be back soon.

We highly recommend this corner/junction Nepalese restaurant. It was not just because of its always high standard quality (foods and drinks) but also the lovely tall fish tank. Thanks for Ram (chef) and Krish (manager)'s chatty and nice entertainment. We will become regular customers soon.

First visit to this restaurant but won't be the last. The service was A1, the food was excellent, portion size was fantastic and the price was spot on. We both had Lamb based dishes, the meat was so tender, the sauces they came in were so flavoursome. Unfortunately, due to the horrendous weather conditions, the restaurant only had an handful of customers but I'm sure that when it's busier, the atmosphere will be buzzing. The staff were very polite and welcoming and the service brilliant.

Been 3 times now and the food does not disappoint the starters are amazing. Lamb sekuwa 10/10, lamb chops juiciest chops I?ve ever had, masala chips best in derby ?? tandoori king prawns also Lovley and can?t fault the curry?s rice and fresh naan worth going to anyone who is unsure if u see a bad review about the place it?s because the people don?t appreciate good food and their tastebuds aren?t working

Amazing Food and Exceptional Service!
I recently ordered Paneer Bhutawa, Aloo Gobi, Pilau Rice, Chapati, and Garlic & Cheese Naan from Gurkha Junction, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed!
From the first bite, it was clear that the food was prepared with care and authentic flavors. The Paneer Bhutawa was a standout ? perfectly spiced and bursting with rich flavors. The Aloo Gobi was equally delightful, cooked to perfection with just the right balance of spices. The Pilau Rice was aromatic and fluffy, complementing the dishes beautifully.
The Garlic and Cheese Naan was a real treat ? soft, cheesy, and with a delicious garlicky punch, while the Chapati was warm and fresh, just how I like it.
On top of the excellent food, the service was exceptional. My order was ready for collection right on time, and the staff were polite and friendly. Considering the generous portions and high quality of the food, it was definitely worth every penny.
I would highly recommend Gurkha Junction to anyone looking for delicious, authentic cuisine at a great price. I will definitely be ordering again soon!

Delicious Food That Reminds Me of Home!
My name is Sunanina, and as an Indian student living in Derby, I have always been on the lookout for food that reminds me of home. Since discovering Gurkha Junction in Spondon, it has quickly become my favorite spot for authentic Indian and Nepali dishes.
I?ve ordered takeaway from here many times, and every time, the food has been consistently amazing. Recently, I tried the Nepaliyan Tikka and Hariyali Paneer Tikka for starters, and both were incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. The paneer was perfectly cooked, with the right balance of spices, and the Nepaliyan Tikka had a unique taste that I loved.
For the main course, I ordered Indian-style spicy Tadka Dal, Saag Paneer, and of course, Chapati and Butter Naan. Each dish was a true reminder of home. The Tadka Dal was rich and spicy, just the way I like it, and the Saag Paneer had that perfect, creamy texture that makes it one of my favorite dishes.
The Chapati and Butter Naan were soft, fresh, and complemented the mains perfectly. I was impressed with the quality and authenticity of every item. It felt like I was enjoying a home-cooked meal straight from India.
I?m so grateful to have found a place like Gurkha Junction, where the food is not only delicious but also brings back wonderful memories of my hometown. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful dishes.
Thank you, Gurkha Junction, for making me feel at home, even when I?m far away. I will definitely continue to order from here regularly!

I had a take away on 12 Sept 2024 which was absolutely superb. Lovely fresh flavours. The strips of fresh ginger gave the aloo gobi a lift and a zing I have not previously experienced. The food arrived before the estimate and the delivery gentleman was so pleasant. ??

Came here for a takeaway. It looks nice, but I did not eat in, so I couldn't really comment on the atmosphere inside. It looks okay.
