The hotel was easy to find and had ample free parking. There were some areas that looked a bit tired (some of the paint work was chipped, scuffed walls, and stained carpet), but none of that detracted from our stay. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Pool was a little chilly for my liking, but for those wanting to swim lengths, it was just right. We'll equipped cardio gym and a separate weight studio with lots of free weights. Dinner was excellent and big portions. After a starter and main we couldn't manage a desert! We will be back.

Very tired, but serviceable and comfortable. Badly needs a refit. Bathroom was ancient and shower very basic, but fundamentally all worked OK. Restaurant was fine and food was nice - great breakfast too.

I think it?s generally a conference/business hotel but we went for the weekend as a little break with our dog and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are good sized and clean. The service is very welcoming and friendly, but I have to mention Kate who was running around making sure everyone had everything they needed for breakfast. I she was so efficient and is an absolute diamond! Probably would have been some grumbling customers at breakfast if not for her Herculean efforts!
The spa was ok, rather tired but had everything you need and is a nice touch. Got some good recommendations from hotel staff for things to do in the area and there?s plenty of local pubs a short walk away. I?ll be staying again soon!

We stayed here for a wedding. The room was so dirty on arrival. There was pubes in the bathroom, left over soap. We first found the soap and was given an apology and was assured that the toilet was clean. I than went gym and came back to use the shower and found the pubes. Not ideal, especially as we had used the toilet and it appears this room was not cleaned..it took staff a lifetime to sort us out with another room, which was a lot smaller, windy and noisy. We decided to sleep in our original room and not use the toilet as staff said they could not clean it. The reception staff were very sympathetic towards this and sounded like they did want to fix things.
The next morning we were given a suite room, which was nice of the staff, the reception staff were really friendly especially the tall Caucasian who works the night shift. Great representation for any company.
Unfortunately due to the time lost on the first and second day in moving rooms we asked for late checkout which was denied. It takes my back a certain amount of time to recover and I could not do this on the first two days. We even offered to pay for this and still it was rejected even though we had a 4 hour drive to do on the way back and I have very bad back issues.
Gym was busy, but had everything. Small weights and cardio room, a busy steam and sauna room. And the hot tub was always hogged, which I'm not surprised as people weren't leaving so it would take ages for anyone to get space. It was all very unclean. Especially the shower rooms. Please don't forget you slippers.
The bar, can be closed or open no real timings. When I first got to the bar, no one was there. So reception staff went to grab someone. I did not wait it out and instead went to my room. My wife than came back later on and the woman at the bar on the 20th Feb. She said the bar was closing 30 minutes earlier for no real reason. When I got to the bar, within the bar staff made up closing time, she was having a chat for with someone and seemed like she had no interest in serving me. In the end the guy she was talking to said he needed to go and she looked upset. She than tried to serve someone who came after me. I had to step in, which is uncomfortable. I gave my order of a coffee and hot chocolate and she was visibly and verbally upset. She than left the bar and said she needed to get something. She came back and proceeded to make the hot chocolate with cold milk topped up with frothed milk. and the coffee with instant coffee. I brought this up and she mentioned the milk was hot and the coffee was made like that. I told her you have a coffee machine can you not make it with them, and she said she only does when she can be bothered. I asked her at this point if she wants to serve me or not. She said she was tired and finally made the machine coffee. When my wife got her hot chocolate she said it was lukewarm. I was polite to the lady and sympathetic and did ask her if she was okay. But, honestly it's not acceptable service. The bars hours are really not useful if you want a barrister drink in the afternoon.
Housekeeping missed cleaning our room on the first day which was not ideal either but we did get a free drinks voucher, as entitled.
The hotel needs a refurbishment badly. The gym and reception staff are friendly.

Went with friends for spa night but unfortunately jacuzzi was out of service. None of stuff member mentioned that jacuzzi will be closed. It really nice to go to jacuzzi after swimming pool but we kept going to sauna to warm up. And breakfast was awful. We had to eat toasts with eggs as rest of the food wasn?t eatable. Someone pissed in the sink and all over the floor In the male pool changing rooms, there's baby moths everywhere, bandaids in and around the pools edge.. and the place is dilapidated and needs desperately renovating/modernising.

This hotel has a special place in our hearts; we?ve been coming here for over eight years now.
The staff are incredibly friendly and always present themselves well, which makes our stay even more enjoyable.
There's something so comforting about the calm atmosphere here.
The self-service breakfast is a lovely way to start our day.

Nice hotel room. Very spacious. Swimming pool and jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Gym.
Not the best of starts as my booking reservation was not recognised and took 45 minutes to get sorted out as only one receptionist. Went to restaurant which opened at 6.30. Large restaurant, but was told it was full as there was a tour party and told the next booking was at 7.45 pm, even though there was only a dozen people in the restaurant. Went back at 7.45 pm to find still empty and the same dozen people. When we asked where the tour party was. The answer was the 12 people were the tour party?. Wasn't very impressed with 12 people making the large restaurant FULL and having to wait over an hour to get in. The food was nice although quite a wait from ordering it to getting the food.
The breakfast was good, buffet style and had a good selection.
Would stay again as better than the Premier Inn I normally stay in.
Hopefully the reservation won't get lost and the service and restaurant a bit quicker.
