Nice area for shopping, although quite a few empty shops now, since some bigs names are no longer with us such Wilko, and BHS... Argos also moved out to the outskirts of Chesterfield, and I noticed a fair few smaller shops are vacant also. Its a shame, as it is a lovely little shopping arcade..

Feel for the shops in this down. The council are really leaving it to ruin. Literally nothing worth going for. Increasing the parking charges too, is just ridiculous.

Good selection of shops. Well maintained and plenty of places to get a quick coffee. Pity that several of the larger shop and food outlets are closed.

Used to live in Chesterfield, loved it,but changed sooo much.Lots of shops closed and emptyNot so busy as it used to be.Went there specifically for jewelry item.Ended up in the tea rooms,coffee & breakfast which was tasty

Plenty to see and do. No it's still good shopping Some decent shops just like in any other town or city. Update in my opinion vicar lane shopping is the backbone of chesterfield town centre, a large screen and ample seating at the bottom of the lane brings you entertainment on a sunny day if we ever get one in the UK.
