The noise went on until after 3am and we paid £400 a night for the room. The staff had no sympathy for the lack of sleep we had due to the noise and offered no compensation for our terrible stay at all. Even when we explained our personal circumstances they still were just not interested. This hotel will just take the money of a 5 star hotel and offer a one star service. Personally we will not be revisiting the hotel again after years of going for food and we will not recommend to anyone. Very very disappointed.

We set up for a wedding here, it's an absolutely lovely wedding venue, great rustic charm, great staff, we were very impressed and have more bookings here soon which is great.

His expulsion of a customer because she was wearing a pin on her clothes in the shape of the Palestinian flag makes me afraid of entering, staying, or even just booking in, or even just passing by.

We dine here regularly. The food is of a high standard, and the staff are friendly and professional. The view from the restaurant is stunning, and on a dry day, it's lovely to sit out on the veranda.

We just popped in for drinks and a business meeting. A very nice place in a beautiful setting.
Staff are all setup to serve and I think we'll come back for an important event and a nice meal as it seems like the food is very nice.

i live locally and on occaision meet my friend here for lunch.
The last couple of times over a year I have thought it?s been a little less than average.
The menus ( bar and restaurant ) don?t appeal that much at all.
Opted for bar snacks this time. My friends fish goujons were anaemic and i could see the skin on the fish. The batter was uncooked and had to be returned to the kitchen when we eventually found the young waitress who was trying her best to avoid eye contact. She couldn?t help us we were told as she left to get her manager.
The rest of the snacks were average.
The service was terrible.
The wine was good and glasses were clean. Asked for a weak latte and it came as a normal one so that had to be returned.
This pub has always had a lovely feel and over the years they?ve spent a lot of money on extensions and decor. But they really do need to look at the food and the staff and service. Won?t be returning again.
I used to work here years ago when it was the Red lion. I left because the management wasn?t good then and it?s never changed
Shame

Upon arrival, we were ushered into the restaurant lounge for our drinks - which definitely took too long given the lack of clientele. I personally received ice and lemon in my drink though asking for none.
Upon being led into our booth by a kind waitress, I had to sweep dirt off the back of the booth. The rest of the booth was beautiful and equally well presented with proper velvet and some background pop music. Bear in mind with the prior statement, they said our booth was "ready".
Food & drinks: Definitely had a mini-heart attack seeing some of the prices, although scanning more settled some nerves. Still £20-40 per single main meal and pricey sides which are more typical of the kind of restaurant it is - two rosettes.
Food was great, and what you would expect for the price. My beef was tender, and went very well with the sauce I was served. I tried the sandwich, and was surprised there was no sauce since it was fairly dry. Overall, very good.
Noteworthy details: A member of my family used a wheelchair, and accessibility was impeccable and the waiters and waitresses were incredibly accommodating.

The only wedding venue you should consider, having been married here only yesterday, I can wholeheartedly say that the staff here give their all.
The rooms are spectacular, the food divine and the experience second to none, we will be returning every anniversary to celebrate with the Peak Edge every time.
Weddings aside the Red Lion restaurant is outstanding also, some of the best food, served in a one in a million location.
If you're looking for food, a wedding venue or just an impressive hotel for a night or two, look no further.
Rooms: Having seen the bridal suite and the Chatsworth suite, I can say the rooms are of excellent quality, expertly maintained, spacious and luxurious.
Food & drinks: Some of the best food I've ever tasted, beautifully presented with hearty portions, very good value.
Noteworthy details: One of the most outstanding buildings with a cosy, welcoming county vibe.
Staff here are excellent, each and every one prepared to make your visit memorable.
