I would advise that people do not use the post office collection point service as it has proved unreliable, if possible I would give it no stars.I ordered a pair of shirt sleeve holders from Amazon and put the Holmegate post office down as a collection point as it was local and convenient for me.They arrived precisely on time and I was notified by Amazon e-mail that they were ready for collection, which was great as I wanted them for a wedding the following Monday. The collection times on the e-mail were shown as between 8am and 8pm. so I drove to the Post Office collection point arriving at 12.30pm and was told they could not give them me as the post office was closed, I thought it must be lunch break so I returned two hours later at 2.30pm and was told they were still closed as it was a staff training day. I told them the shirt sleeve holders were needed for a wedding but they still refused to allow me to collect them saying a sign had been displayed in the shop for the last seven days warning of the closure, that was no use to me as I had not been in the shop for at pleast two weeks and if that was the case why did they not notify Amazon so they could tell me collection was not as stated in their email, in all it has cost me a lot in time, fuel and running costs for the two visits which with common sense could have been avoided.I will never again use the post office collection service offered by Amazon or e-bay.Fortunately I immediately ordered a new set from Amazon for delivery the following day so apart from the inconvenience and cost caused by the post office closure I will still get the items in time and Amazon will get the ones at the post office returned to them and refund me their cost.I would again advise that people do not use the post office collection point service as it has proved unreliable and has cost me a lot in time and expenses
