Cocina Restaurant at Casa Hotel ? Fantastic Food & Service!
Had a brilliant meal at Cocina - from start to finish, the service was great. The staff were attentive, making sure we were well looked after the entire time, which really made the evening feel special.
We sat in a lovely booth, which was cosy and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant was just spot on - warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed but high-quality dining experience. The open kitchen was a great touch too - loved being able to watch the chefs in action, working their magic.
Now, onto the food? ace! Every dish was full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The scallop dish was and so was the steak. The peppercorn sauce could?ve been more peppercornery!
The team also gave brilliant drink recommendations - whether it was wines, gins, or cocktails, they knew exactly what would pair well with the meal. A massive thank you to everyone at Cocina for a lovely experience - can?t wait to come back again soon!
Thanks a bunch x

Fabulous place to eat - drinks rather expensive but that is to be expected - the Tapas option is clever so we used that as a starter - very good indeed. I ordered the ?burger? (cooked through as requested). It was excellent and I would go as far as saying the best I?ve ever eaten anywhere (if you can wax lyrical about a burger ?) - however, my wife ordered fish from the specials menu - it was seriously undercooked. We sent it back and the problem was resolved (even though the staff told us that was how the fish should be cooked - or not cooked?). This all meant that our main courses were eaten separately. We went out to eat together, sadly not in this case hence a lost star.

What a treat!! The restaurant is super cosy and elegant, a really nice venue for a treat or a special occasion. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, especially the steaks which were juicy and melt-in-the-mouth. The only comment I have is that some of the desserts feel a little over-priced for what they are.
At Cocina, their meat is cooked in a Josper Grill, which imparts a smokey flavour, resulting in tender, juicy, and fragrant meat. They use the finest cuts of meat including home reared Belted Galloway rare breed cattle from their very own Walton Lodge Farm Estate. The other meals offered on the menu also use the finest, freshly sourced ingredients.

Available exclusively on Friday and Saturday evenings, which includes 16oz Walton Lodge Chef?s Choice Sharing Steak, choice of two sides and a bottle of house wine, red or white.

10oz Sirloin Steak (£32), medium rare, with the above sides + peppercorn sauce (+£4)
Spiced Apple Tarte Tatin with Tonka bean ice cream (£9)
Affogato with Shanky?s Whip whisky liqueur (£9)

Oh dear. What a terrible meal in the Cocina Restaurant at the Casa hotel. The best thing I can write about it is the staff were very good. I am surprised at the 4.6 average reviews after my meal. To start, I paid £11 for a Gambas Pil Pil. It arrived with six averaged sized prawns, so approx £2 per prawn. The pil pil contained no garlic whatsoever but large amounts of chili. the others on the table who had the same reported the identical issue. It was very poor indeed. For main, (pictured) I asked for a medium rare Ribeye and the steak was served medium. It was lacking flavour somewhat but the accompanying lettuce, chips and tomato was okay but I had paid £28 for this so expected it to be much better. I did wonder if they had given me the rump steak instead but surely a professional kitchen cannot get this wrong? After the meal, a person who was with our table and ordered the ribeye said, unprompted, that the steak he was served was rump so maybe I was right. No person at the table had ordered rump steak. The cheese board was £12, decent overall but again the wrong cheese to the one we ordered. After saying something, we received the we cheese. Overall impression? They failed to get any course of the meal right after spending £51 I felt they had left themselves down.

A group of 4 of us went to ABBA tribute night recently, we had a 3 course meal and show, we stayed the night and ordered hot chocolates and mozzarella herb pizzas on room service. The breakfasts were fantastic, lots of options, everything was incredible! The staff are amazing, attentive and professional. We will be visiting again

I want to say a massive thank you to your chef and lovely waiting staff for a wonderful gesture tonight. My girlfriend and I are very grateful for your help. Cancelling our evening due to illness was not the plan but the beautiful meal you prepared with such care was wonderful, I think it made her feel much better and put a smile on her face and that?s what Valentine?s Day is all about

Absolutely first class. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Such friendly staff! Wow, we were really treated so well. The food was amazing and very high quality. An excellent wine list to choose from as well. My only complaint would be that the portion sizes were a little big for the main dishes so we couldn?t quite finish it all. However, the food was extremely tasty with some home made classics. If you would like a nice place for dinner, you can always come here! Breakfast in the restaurant for hotel guests was lovely too.Parking: Plenty of parking available.

Have stayed and dined on several occasions and always enjoyed the food but on a recent visit the food was exceptional. Had eaten a late lunch elsewhere so was not overly hungry so decided on the 2 course set menu for £25 thinking the portions would reflect the price but no. Both my husband and myself chose the pulled pork terrine, excellent, my husband went with the steak and said it was one of the best restaurant meals he had had in a long time, the steak and accompaniments were cooked and served perfectly. I had the best fish pie I have ever tasted but portion size, unfortunately beating me ? Service attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast in the morning, really good, all self service with plenty to choose from.

Stayed at the hotel for two nights and had dinner on the first night. This review only applies to the dinner content as the restaurant is the same one used for the breakfast buffet. The dinner was disappointing, especially at the high prices charged. It was busy and according to its rating it was a previous award winner. This was shown as the Spring Menu, yet it was Summer. It didn?t start well when I asked the waitress how many king scallops were in a starter portion (£16), She said it was quite a big portion, well perhaps a medium size amount. I told her that I simply wanted to know how many scallops I would get.... she said its 3 or 4.... I said which is it and she said 3 I think... but they are big ones.!!. Well, I got three scallops of varying size on a plate with some sort of red jus or sauce and loads of grass. Two of the scallops were overcooked and the biggest one, a true king scallop was cooked perfectly... I have no idea why the disgusting red sauce and other stuff, belly pork, ginger etc was smeared on the plate. I tasted it and quickly realised it did nothing but detract from the taste of a simple shellfish. There is no need to fancy dress scallops or add anything to affect the flavour.I then had the 8 oz Filet steak (£40) which I ordered medium rare, hand cut chips, asparagus (£7) and onion rings (£7). The steak when it arrived was perfectly pink, but the meat was dry and cold. It was tender enough but any juices in the meat had gone. The steak had the impression it had been cooked and then left (which it should for a while) but had not been covered to retain its heat and juices. What really upset me was the side dish of Asparagus, once again a simple vegetable, which when fresh needs very little other than a drop of butter. This had a strong lemon flavour and was covered in bits of disgusting crispy, smoky, bacon. I later saw that this was supposed to be Serrano Ham... I could hardly taste the Asparagus at all it was destroyed by the taste of the ham. The onion rings were fine, at least they weren't soggy. My wife had the chicken, and her meal was fine. We didn?t have a dessert, the waitress made that choice for us, by bringing us the bill before we asked for it or saw the dessert menu.I would not eat there again.... Cost overall £153.... inc£4.50 for a small bottle of water, £8 for a bottle of San Miguel, £30 for a bottle of Rose.
