Came for a meal at the weekend. The portions are very small for the money, the pizzaa came overdone and they did not have a sprinkle of affection, looked like a frozen supermarket pizza.

Appalling service - we were abandoned!
We booked a table and when we arrived at the restaurant we were shown to a table upstairs. We were left with menus, and nobody came to take our order, or even a drinks order.
People at other tables near us, who had been there since before we arrived, were also waiting to order. We realised that when any staff could be bothered to serve anyone, we would be behind these other tables, so we were not likely to be served anytime soon.
After quite a long time (I didn?t time it, but it was an excessive amount of time to wait) we hadn?t even seen any staff come upstairs.
We decided that if the service was this bad, even if we did manage to order soon, the whole meal would be hard work, so we decided to leave.
As we left, no staff noticed us leaving, even though we had to walk the length of both floors of the restaurant to get out. We passed four waiting staff downstairs standing around chatting. They were laughing and joking, so this was a social chat and not a work-related discussion. We wanted to say something to one of them about why we were leaving, but they were too engrossed on their conversation to notice us trying to talk to them!
Maybe the food is good at this restaurant, but that is irrelevant if the staff cannot be bothered serving customers. Maybe they have read the positive reviews on here and are resting on their laurels, or maybe they only look after their regular customers.
There are plenty of other restaurants in Buxton, so there is no need to risk this one.

Very good Italian cuisine. The wines are very well chosen. Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Buxton.

We had a fabulous meal at St Moritz on Tuesday 9th July. The food was amazing, the service from Max was outstanding, it was as good as many of the restaurants we?ve been to in Rome. I would highly recommend St Moritz to anyone visiting/staying in Buxton.

Celebrated my 30th Wedding Anniversary in here and the food tasted amazing and great portion sizes, great atmosphere and amazing staff, Max was superb, very helpful and polite.

Nice enough atmosphere and service but let down by disappointing food. Dull, dry garlic bread with raw parsley on top, bland spaghetti bolognese and pizzas which were very similar to a frozen one from a supermarket. Never great paying for dinner out when you know you could make something much better at home ?

Been a few times to this place and every time everything is spot on, it has a lovely old fast feel to the place, the staff are always friendly and the food is wonderful
