“Really impressed by our visit this evening. A proper traditional pub with family values, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was faultless, as was the service. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the Waterloo Inn, in fact we've booked a return visit tomorrow. A big thank you to the staff!”

“Brilliant service, I ordered an Olymp shirt from Potters, I needed to ask a few specific questions before ordering as the shirt was for my daughter’s wedding. Potters chat line appears to be manned by a human who knows their stock and answered my queries. The shirt arrived within the slotted time and was as described and fits a treat(accurate size guide). I already own an Olymp shirt and knew the quality, fit and comfort would be great, I was not disappointed. Free shipping and returns if needed. All together a positive online experience for a change.”

“THIS REVIEW APPLIES TO THE RESTAURANT ONLY.
A new Indian restaurant has restaurant has recently opened at Cottons which is in the centre of village. Beautiful food which can be modified to suit your tastes, good bar, new restaurant and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Does a take out service. Great value for money.”

“During my stay at The Palace Hotel Buxton & Spa, I was immediately struck by its grand Victorian architecture and sense of history. Walking into the lobby felt like stepping back in time, with its high ceilings, chandeliers, and elegant décor. The location was perfect—just a short walk from Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens and the Opera House, making it easy to explore the town.

One of the highlights was relaxing in the hotel’s leisure facilities after a day of sightseeing. The pool and sauna were a great way to unwind, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My room, while spacious, did feel a little dated, and the furniture could use some updating. However, the bed was comfortable, and I had a peaceful night’s sleep.

Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable, with a good selection of hot and cold options, and the dining area had a lovely old-world charm. While there were a few small inconveniences, like extra charges for parking and Wi-Fi, the overall experience was positive. The hotel’s character, history, and unbeatable location made it a memorable stay.

Nearby activities: Walks and stunning caves

Safety: Incredibly safe my son injured himself and was rushed off to be treated in the hotel by increasingly kind members of staff”
