Good food. Great vibe and service! If poasible, a little more variety in vegetarian food would be amazing.

I ordered a salad bowl with hummus and sun dried tomatoes. The menu said it was ' a bed of mixed leaves, fresh coleslaw, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, rice salad with peas and sweetcorn'. What I received was a portion of just iceberg lettuce (NO mixed leaves) cucumber (a huge amount) and a bit of sliced onion (not on the description), and just one and a half cherry tomatoes plus the hummus and sun dried tomatoes NO rice salad with peas NO sweetcorn. Fine if you were a rabbit. I won't be back.

Traditional English tea room with an extensive menu, prompt service and a pleasant decor.Their sandwiches are good with plenty of fresh ingredients. No table service but the counter staff are pretty quick dealing with the flow of orders which are then delivered to you at your table.

This is a nice little cafe above a gift shop of the same name, all the cakes are baked in house and you get a good portion at a reasonable price, a decent menu is available too for breakfastor lunch. It's worth a visit.

As we both enjoyed lovely homemade cake and a cold drink went back next day and had toasted sandwiches which were very nice. Staff friendly and most helpful when checking ingredients due to an allergy. Situated above a lovely kitchenware shop.

Had afternoon tea with friends. Sorry but no pictures. It was all lovely and I would definitely recommend it and good value for money. Lovely setting.Dietary restrictions: We had one who had gluten free afternoon tea. She said it was delicious

Paid £9.50 for a sandwich I can make at home ? comes with a handful of crisps, supermarket slaw and a bit of greenery. It was nice and I ate it, just felt like it was double the price it should be.Also it's a bit tired looking in here and you can't move the seats or table if you're sat on the mirrored wall side.Staff were nice. Service is slow. I left disappointed ?Edited my review to lessen the stars due to the sarcastic response given by the business owner. How rude!

My original review on Google was met with such spite from the owner - including insulting me for no reason - I'm sure the cakes and tea are nice which they're seemingly heralded for but the sandwiches are poor - as per the negative reviews - I left my personal review as below and was met with spite, petty insults and defensiveness from the author replying to me. Appalling. ----- Paid £9.50 for a sandwich I can make at home ? comes with a handful of crisps, supermarket slaw and a bit of greenery. Ordered 2 meals both £7.50 each. Eggs on toast - 2 rounds of toast, 1 egg and some Lettuce. Scramble egg and smoke salmon on toast-three small pieces of salmon on the same rubbish bread and lettuce. Quality was poor. Not value for money and not typical of area. Poor customer service when complaining. Will not be going back.

Not what I expected from somewhere which seems to pride itself in its business. Food is supermarket quality at best and not worth the cost.Ordered the 'roast pork sandwich' and got a premade roll, from a packet pork, heated up in what must have been a microwave and jar apple sauce. The puddings however, were pretty damn good! I really liked the rock cake and the scones went down a treat.I'd recommend for tea and cake but not for lunch.Edit: Dropped to 1 Star for poor response from company. Feedback from customers is important and should really be taken on board. I provided a honest and informed review providing both positive and negative points on my experience which ultimately recommended the company for tea and cake. Wholly this is a single review, a single view point and others may have a far better experience which will be reflected in their reviews, this wasn't the case for me. I'm sure others will have a positive experience, maybe I ordered the wrong thing, maybe it was an off day, who knows. Not taking feedback is how companies stagnate and find themselves in difficulties. (This edit included some grammatical and spelling errors in the original review.)

Afternoon tea at Hargreaves is lovely. All the sandwiches, scones and cakes are freshly homemade and delicious. The personal service is excellent and I would thoroughly recommend.
