I have been using the Lion for 12 years now. Its just what I want for a business trip. I know some of the staff and I know my way around. It's a friendly homely and still stylish place. Food is always good and the beer is very good. No Bass this time but the Wainwright's and the Pedigree were a good alternative.I would recommend this place.

Just nipped in for a quick bite, staff were friendly and allowed us to take any seat as long as we were gone 15 minutes before the reservation on the table. The pizzas are lovely! Perfect place for a few drinks and some food!Food & drinks: Pizzas were amazing and the sandwiches looked very good too!

Lion burger presentation excellent chef made burger homemade onion rings 100% first class . The staff polite and attentive nothing too much trouble. Would seriously recommend.

Smart hotel in a great location , ideal for walking to and from bars / restaurants . Great outdoor areas with a court yard and beer garden , would happily stay again .I have stayed again for new years eve , very popular hotel with locals as well as visitors , the staff were kept busy all night and coped really well .

Never been before and fancied a pizza.Live no more than 10 miles away so booked.What a treat, my pizza (calzone) was superb, chock full and cooked to perfection.Wife had steak, chips etc, again presented really nicely and cooked perfectly.Staff were attentive but not in your face, pleasant and knew what they were doing.Recommended.

Called in for a quick fix for tea and very impressed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and a lovely place inside. Great selection of drinks available and we chose the pizzas for our meal which were superb. Will certainly go back again.
