Visited today at 15.25 to be told they were closing at 4.00? 3 staff stood at the counter doing nothing. Does it take 35 minutes to pour two cold drinks and wash two glasses? Even the suggestion of a take out would have been nice.
Will not be visiting again but I?m sure they?re not bothered either way.

Totally ignored whilst tablewho came in afyer is were served. When we asked for a menu, we were told ' in a minute ', but no one came. Had been previously and recommended it to the friend I was with, but I was extremely disappointed with my second visit and will not recommend this place again.

The time it took to get served with coffee and cake was ridiculous !!! If you want your food in under an hour I would give it a miss ..I won't be going again ..goodness knows how long it would have taken if we had wanted cooked food !!

First time ever eating here. There's a sign at the door saying to wait to be seated. It was a Saturday, they were very busy, so I approached the counter and asked what I should do.
I was told to pick an empty table and it would be cleared and someone would be with me asap
I picked an empty table, 20 minutes later, it hadn't been cleared and I wasnt offered a menu.
I had to use this time to check out the menu online .
I have to say the food was fantastic.
However most of the staff came across miserable and unfriendly and the service wasn't great.

Food was average for the price. Apart from one member of staff, I wasn't made to feel welcome..
Probably wouldn't go again as there are other places to go where staff seem to welcome the paying customer..

Disappointing visit unfortunately.
No black pudding on the full English, sausages and bacon not served fresh - had gone hard from sitting, and poached eggs overcooked - again, probably from sitting.
My pregnant wife - who for reasons cannot eat smoked salmon - asked to exchange the salmon on her poached eggs for bacon, only to be told we?d be charged fully for the salmon and extra for the bacon, only for the salmon to be held back. We queried this again when paying but were told they were unable to swap or remove items. Basically, computer says no.
However, the service from staff was very good and the decor and atmosphere is great. Just a shame our food did not live up to the claim of the best breakfast in Derbyshire.

Don't believe the hype. It was underwhelming and poor! Had Full English, supposedly award winning and "the best breakfast in Derbyshire", none of the breakfast was hot, most of it was cold apart from the beans and eggs! Informed the server, he said he would let chef know, no apology or refund provided or care in customer satisfaction or service. Considering it wasn't even busy, and several staff were working, the hygiene standards were shocking, no one was even bothering to wipe down tables after guests had been dining. No wonder they havent got a 5 star food hygiene score. Actually surprised they got 4, considering the experience we had I would avoid.
Some suggestions to the owners, cook ALL the food fresh to order rather than keeping it on the heat, meat was dry and luke warm on serving, went cold instantly, clearly had been precooked and held on heat. Food was served too quick to have been cooked fresh to order. Heat the plates to keep the food warm when its put on them. Make the building warm it was also really cold in there. And finally wipe and clean down table surfaces after guests eat there. It's simply lazy and also unhygienic.

What a little goldmine this is..
was looking for a Sunday lunch. Rang up and they fitted us in.
WOW what a lunch it was. All food was so tasty and plenty of it.. Staff real friendly and couldn?t do enough.
Great ambiance. Highly recommend this place. Next time I?m up here we will be back 5?????
Parking: We could park on the road just opposite the cafe.
