“We booked a room for the night so we could enjoy the sights & pubs of Belper. We arrived a little early but the room was ready so we checked in and went to drop off our bags upstairs. We were on the second floor facing out to the main road but it wasn't too noisy which was nice. The room itself was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was an ensuite with toiletries, tea & coffee facilities, a small ironing board and an iron. The bed was so comfy but we were a little unsure about the duvet as it was a little thin but oh my goodness it kept us very warm (in fact we had to open the window!) There isn't anything bad to say about this place and would highly recommend it to anyone that fancies a night away. There was a band on when we stay and they were brilliant so look out for the live artists and you won't be disappointed. Thanks to the team for a lovely stay, we'll see you again soon ?”

“We had a wonderful relaxing stay. The rooms are really comfy and the Indian food in the evening was amazing. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. We would give a 6 star review if we could ?”

Lovely furnishings and decoration. Great bathroom.Food & drinks: Sparkling afternoon tea as a gift. Fab breakfast menu. Smashed avocado smoked salmon, Eggs benedict. All croissants cereals and everything you could possibly want. Fruit,nuts yoghurt cereals fruit juices tea and coffee. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you aĺl staff.”

“We haven't been here for several years, as the previous owners had let standards slip.Very pleased that we returned, new people running the pub, good selection of drinks, main menu and a Specials board, very clean, polite staff, everything was spot on. The food was delicious and a generous serving. Looking forward to returning in a couple of weeks.”

“I have been using the Lion for 12 years now. Its just what I want for a business trip. I know some of the staff and I know my way around. It's a friendly homely and still stylish place. Food is always good and the beer is very good. No Bass this time but the Wainwright's and the Pedigree were a good alternative.I would recommend this place.”
