Friendly staff who were swift and polite, food was very nice. Would have liked a few more ales on offer instead of the trendy lagers with it being a pub in the Derbyshire Peak District. When we arrived we thought some of the negative reviews were probably a little unfair, until that is we sat down for dinner, how disappointing, a very average starter of smoked salmon and a pate dish which was 2/10 at best!We ordered the short rib which was 80% fat with a few vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding not great... read full comment

The Sunday roast was really average. They only serve the beef med well (it came well done) and the beef rib was so small it made a mockery of the £22 price point. Roast potatoes were also under done.We wouldn't go back.
