Decent food but very slow service especially when busy at weekends

This popular cafe is situated right on the monsal trail if you are walking, jogging or cycling. Over the years the has expanded and now boasts a pizza caravan next to the covered seating area. I can highly recommend the eggs benedict served with bacon. The cafe is extremely busy at all times but seems to easily cope with the numbers and food and drink are delivered to your table without delay. Go and spoil yourself.

The cafe does the most amazing food. It is popular and so sometimes there is a wait but the staff will tell you upfront. Food is ordered at the counter. We had pulled pork ciabatta which was tasty and filling but even better was the assortment of home made cakes. Various brownies, rocky roads, blondies, flapjacks and scones. They were so yummy we bought more to take home.

Lovely spot, right on the Monsel Trail.
Good food, little on the pricey side if you're short on cash.

EXCELLENT!
We were recommended the Monsol Trail at Hassop Station by a friend and locals and it did not disappoint.
The guys at the cycle hire were really helpful and our bikes did the job.
The trail is a 14 mile (7 there 7 back) trail of pure flat land with the most stunning scenery and views. Really interesting place being a disused railway track so you cycle through a few train tunnels and over Victorian viaducts.
We did the trail with three kids (14, 11 & 9) and they all loved it and double bonus - no moaning!
We stopped off at The Anglers Rest for lunch which is quite a steep five minute walk off the trail (food was ok). There?s also a disused station selling refreshments around halfway. We didn?t use the Hassop Station cafe, so o can?t comment on that, but it was bustling and there was a beautiful gift shop.
There were lots of walkers and cyclists and a packed lunch is probably wise.
We paid £104 for five bikes for the day.

As a walking group of 8 we met for breakfast at a booked table where we individually paid for our orders. As the food arrived mine was wrong and was took back and it arrived again saying it was right. I asked for the lady in charge and showed her a receipt saying otherwise. The manager accused a party member of taking the wrong order which didn't go down well. We spent £100 + and will not be going back.
Further up the trail is quackers and wld recomnend as a cheaper better experience

Quick pitstop here before we went cycling. Ordered a beautiful oat latte and pastrami with melted cheese ciabatta. Delicious and followed it by a Bakewell slice (well, when in Rome) it was so picturesque and friendly. A recommended stop off on your cycle/walk indeed.
