Not sure what's happened to the service at this store, who have been excellent in the past. I took some damaged spectacles to request a repair or spare parts. The spring had broken in the hinge ( my own fault as I sat on them !! ) "We don't do repairs, you'll need a new frame. We don't have a lab, you'll need to go to Derby. We're a franchise and can't look at them, all the stores are franchises now. This is a display-only store." I rang Derby who were extremely helpful, and at least offered to look at them, and repair if possible. Question... Why would I want to go back to the Ashbourne franchise again to purchase new glasses ? I try to give custom to local businesses whenever possible, I'll try somewhere else....

I travel from derby to ashbourne purely for your excellent staff. The ladies are helpfull and friendly. Willing to help nothing too much trouble. A credit to specsavers. I saw the optometrist Tom who is knowledgeable and took the time to explain all my options about different lenses and contact lensesThankyou

The ladies in this store are fabulous, so much more personable in a smaller opticians rather than a huge one like Boots where I've been previously. They were incredibly patient with my son on his several attempts at trying contact lenses.

Thorough eye exam. So helpful and patient whilst I was choosing frames. At one point I had 4 staff including the optician helping me and offering really constructive input! To top it all, they did me a really good deal so that I could get the glasses I wanted with the thinnest lenses needed to compliment them.

Went here for an eye test and new glasses. They got my prescription wrong three times! Finally had to ask for a refund, but they would only refund the glasses and not the eye test, which they didn't manage to do correctly.I've never had an issue at any other opticians in 30 years - Will never use Specsavers Ashbourne again!
