Extremely disappointed with customer service. I was looking to make a bulk order worth £2000. I thought that due to the order being so large they would be open to some form of discount. The purchase was for personal use and not to re-sell and I thought this may help me with my request. I was however informed that in order to get any form of discount I must be a registered business making orders to the value of £2000 on an annual basis. One off purchases are not an option. To make matters worse, I was also told if I buy online I can only order 10 of 1 item at a time meaning I would have to make multiple orders to get a significant quantity which also means I have to pay multiple delivery costs for what I believe should be 1 large purchase.I just feel rather insulted that Thorntons are so unwilling and dismissive towards a customer willing to spend quite a significant amount of money. Due to this and despite my love for Thorntons chocolate, I cannot support this company and therefore I will be taking my business elsewhere.Thorntons, if you see this and are willing to reconsider, please reach out

Disappointed in this company now, will not be using them again.In late November 2022 my wife ordered some Champagne truffles as a Christmas present. The order duly arrived and we wrapped and gifted the chocolates on Christmas Day. Soon after the gift was received the recipient pointed out to us that the best before date was the 8th December 2022. We were pretty put out by this and to be honest slightly embarrassed.We contacted Thorntons at our own expense on their 0345 help number to register our dissatisfaction. Not only were we told the truffles were advertised as short shelf life (if they were it certainly wasn't at all evident on their web site nor was any 'short-life' discount on offer unlike all other food retailers give) but if we wanted to return them then it would be at our own cost (pretty much not worth the time or effort and potential loss given the state of the postal service right now) and they would consider sending us a replacement box, which they could not guarantee would have any more of a best before date!There was no offer to replace the item, or any form of apology or offer of good will. My wife asked to register this as a complaint and she was told that Thorntons don't register complaints due to the value of the products.Thorntons seem happy to sell goods that are very close to and maybe even bang on the best before date at full retail price. Using their on-line web shop to purchase goods gives no opportunity to make a choice as to whether to accept the goods with a short best before date or not. At least in a supermarket we could have made that choice but the item in question is not readily available near us.Given the very poor customer service, lack of care, disappointing attitude and generally low quality business practices we will not be purchasing another Thorntons product again. We will also be letting our friends and family know of our experience, advising them to steer clear of Thorntons if they want a satisfactory purchasing experience, fair trading practices or any form of obligation from the seller.Caveat emptor, as the seller takes no responsibility for the goods they sell!

Ordered 2 weeks before Easter, paid for 3-5 day delivery, been told today won?t arrive for Easter and maybe not at all. Told to call and ask for a refund if not arrived on 2 weeks. I find this very poor, no reason given, no apology, and I as the customer have to chase the refund. This is Thorntons, a name that suggests quality.

Thorntons has been bought by Ferrero another good quality chocolate manufacturers. Whilst streamlining the product range somewhat, maintaining many old favourites. Quality is pleasingly unaffected.

Ordered Advent calendars for family who live in Staffordshire. The carrier they use( Parcelfarce) are worse than useless and managed not to deliver on the day promised.A phone call to Thorntons soon sorted out the fact that Parcelforce tracking is not truthful. Parcel never left depot. Many thanks to Kieran for his kind help in sorting out the shambles caused by their carrier.Please find a courier service fit for purpose. ie anyone but Parcelforce.
