Went over Xmas with my wife & children. Got sandwiches, two coffees & two hot chocolates. The place was a shambles & no one seemed to know what was going on.
Eventually, I got the food, drinks & a crammed table. My daughter noticed a hair in her whipped cream. My wife took it to the counter & then came back to tell me, "The server is asking where is the hair?" The drink was full, why would you ask where the hair is?? Surely you apologise & replace it?! I pointed it out (poking out the cream) & they replaced it.
I then went to drink my coffee & saw there was fluff & hair all around the rim of the glass. It looked unwashed & completely disgusting. It was like they had put it upside down on the floor.
There was a busser at an adjacent table, I called him over, showed him, he apologised (the only one who seemed to know how to react) & I asked for a new one in a takeaway cup as I had more faith it would be clean. Hopefully they didn't just pour the dirty coffee in it.
Sandwiches were fine but I wouldn't go back. Nasty to have dirt and hairs in drinks & ridiculous to be asked "where's the hair?"

It's a costa and a busy one, is clean and tidy but as always they would really benefit from an extra staff member to improve service rather than just looking at the profit margins and let's be honest what they charge they can afford it!
Update 25.08.20 930am, still understaffed but what makes it worse are the two staff members are bitching in front of customers about other staff members not present. Service was poor and in these modern times of being extra clean due to covid-19 it is clear looking at the state of floor around our table and thinking thus cafe has not be open long the floor has not been mopped overnight. Very disappointed 2nd year running not many people in the cafe and they still managed to run out of all the Christmas drinks and the annoying thing is they did not put up any signs to tell you they had nothing but plain coffee with all the custom being lost to Starbucks I would have thought that more of an effort eould be made to keep existing customers happy. In my opinion costa has gone down hill since it changed its points reward system. My apologies for this being so negative but when you look forward to a Christmas treat and for the second year running get let down it makes me think if Costa values it's customers..

Great experience. We had our 10 month old grandson with us and needed somewhere to feed him. The staff were extremely helpful and gave us some hot water to heat up his food. They also refunded us a chicken wrap which turned out to be a bit too spicy. We didn?t complain but they picked up on the fact that we hadn?t eaten it all and immediately offered a refund. A special mention for Chelsea who was cheerful and courteous making it a lovely afternoon for us all.

I love and use Costa a lot but this experience put me off - The girl taking my breakfast order wiped her nose on her hand and checked her nostril with her finger before taking my sausage bap for heating. Not what you want to see!
