Had a very comfortable stay at this conveniently located guest house just a 20 min walk from the lake. The room was cosy and Garreth was a lovely host and gave me some great tips on places to visit and things to do. Very knowledgeable and welcoming.

My girlfriend and I had an incredibly enjoyable three-day stay in the Lake District. We travel a lot, and this has been by far the most satisfying accommodation experience we?ve ever had. Garreth, our host, was exceptionally warm and welcoming. Every morning, he prepared us a delicious full English breakfast, which we enjoyed while chatting with him in the cozy dining room overlooking a beautiful garden. He?s a truly kind person, and our morning conversations were always delightful. He also knows the Lake District very well and gave us great recommendations that made our trip even better.
we?ll definitely return when we visit the Lake District again.

I was completely mesmerised both with the property and the host. The property is located at a serene and beautiful location, where each morning you would wake up with the beautiful sounds of chirping birds. Also, Garreth was a lovely host who gave us a very warm welcome. He was very friendly and suggested some very good locations for us to visit in Lake District. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The room had a very comfortable bed with comfy pillows and cushions and an extra duvet. It had more than enough toiletries, coffee/tea sachets, long life milk and utensils. The wi-fi speed was good and the location is just 10 mins walk from Orrest Head and 20 mins walk from beautiful Windermere lake. There is enough space for private parking. Also, the property is just 10 mins walk from the best restaurants in the town.This was one of the most pleasant stay I had and I am definitely coming back. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Lake District to stay at Ivy Bank.

Superb and remarkable hotel in Windermere! I felt grateful to the host, Garreth, who voluntarily proposed to arrange me another room at first floor instead of the second floor one due to my disability. It was so kind of him taking care of me all the time. After I fell down on the chair, he moved an armed sofa to the dining room and borrowed an armed chair from his neighbor. Cannot thank him enough.Due to Garreth and the Ivy Bank Guest House, I experienced a traditional British style life during my stay. Garreth also introduced several nice places and activities to go in the Lake district.I feel fortunate that I stayed in the Ivy Bank Guest House and met Garreth, which made this journey memorable and pleasant.

We spent 3 nights at the Ivy Bank and loved absolutely everything. The host, Garreth, went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cooked breakfast was beautifully prepared to our personal tastes. The WiFi was reliably fast. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic guest house. Had everything we needed with delicious breakfast served each morning of our stay. The manager was able to accommodate for my partner's many food intolerances and was very friendly and helpful.Off road parking.We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this guest house to others.

Honestly some of the nicest people ever run this place, it's so ideal and close to all of the methods of public transport so its ideal for holiday goers.

Loved our stay here. Nicky and gareth were so welcoming. They even put a fan in our room prior to our arrival as it was really hot weather when we were there. Great location. Our room was lovely and clean Would definitely recommend

This was my first time visiting the Lakes, with my partner, Mark. Ivy Bank did not disappoint! Very good location and Nicky and Gareth gave us some great recommendations for walks and places to visit. Breakfast was great and did us well through the day for our long walks. I was very sad to leave, it's a beautiful place and I'd certainly stay at Ivy Bank again! Thank you guys for making us feel very welcome!

We were disappointed that we had to have our booking cancelled due to Liverpool going into lockdown. But Nicky phoned personally to explain the reason which she did not have to do. This was so thoughtful and exceptionally courteous . That is why i have given 5 stars although we didnt get to stay on this occasion.but we will deff be using in the future x

I stayed for 6-nights in room 1, which was perfect for me. Nicky and Gareth made me feel immediately welcome and at ease, with clear and simple procedures in place for COVID-19. Being a short walk to shops and restaurants in both Windermere and Bowness, the location was great. Having private parking at the rear was also helpful, as I had my bike in the car and wanted it out of sight. But best of all, Gareth went to the shop and got almond drink so Nicky could make me vegan porridge each morning plus plant-based margarine for toast.
