I've heard so much about this pub and finally got booked in tonight (as it's always fully booked) and oh my word it's lived up to the rumours and no, not going to post a picture as it'll not to it justice, so you'll have to go in person. The Ye Olde Greyhound Inn was recommended to us as a little gem of a pub.
I pre booked, which was a wise option. The place was very busy with three groups celebrating a 70th, 60th and a family get together.
The atmosphere was cosy, not loud, and the service was excellent, as was the food.
Good selection of beers to wet your taste buds.
Overall, it was an excellent evening meal, fully enjoyed by both of us, and our dog CJ, who found a nice warm place under the table to Snooze.
Fully recommend.

Ye Olde Greyhound truly feels like a hidden treasure. The food is nothing short of fantastic?everything is cooked to perfection, with a great variety of dishes that showcase fresh, top-quality ingredients. You can really taste the care that goes into the cooking?our potatoes had been dug up that very morning, and the meat was outstanding.
We booked a table for 11, and the team accommodated us with ease. The service was warm, attentive, and efficient throughout. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and despite the generous portion sizes, not a scrap was left on any plate?always a good sign!
Do make sure to call ahead to book, as it's clearly popular for a reason. The drive includes some narrow country lanes (which might depend on your route), but we were lucky not to meet any oncoming traffic.
All in all, it's incredible value for money, with hearty food, a welcoming atmosphere, and genuinely friendly service. We?ll definitely be back.

Ye olde greyhound inn is an absolute jewel in Cumbrias crown. My wife & I have been going there every week for the past 6 weeks with our dog.The food is consistently excellent, a family run pub with a lovely friendly & welcoming vibe, Always busy so best to book. It's just such a lovely place share with your friends & loved ones.

Lovely place. Beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Only one complaint. The lamb was so tough that you could barely cut it. There were fifteen of us, everyone of the others said their food was first class.

Great little restaurant, lovely decor, & atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, food was delicious and reasonably priced. Couldn't fault it, we will definitely be back. Well done to tony and all his staff ?

How have we not been here before! We both had sirloin steaks and both agreed that they were the best steaks we had had in years. Cooked to perfection. We followed with toffee apple crumble and custard. I was stuffed! Nice beer at hand and the staff( of which there were plenty on duty) were friendly and attentive. We will be back.

What a fantastic find. We were visiting family near Carlisle and were looking for a dog friendly restaurant for an evening meal and we were not disappointed. A gem of a place hidden away about 10 minutes away from Wigton. The food was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced, and even though the restaurant was extremely busy the service was fantastic with all the staff smiling and very attentive. We will most definitely be visiting again.

found this by chance doing a google search as we were staying in holiday accommodation near by and had been travelling in and out to keswick for the lakes over our mini break and wanted something closer to our accommodation to grab something to eat and we were glad we found this place.
The food was excellent , proper homemade food done to a very high standard and the price for the quality of food was amazing!! if i'm
ever in the area again i'll be making a point in popping in for some food ?
