Very good Shop with a lot of very good clothing items that I bought. Shop Wonder was very friendly, too!

Being only 1 of the three charity shops in Whitehaven which are wheelchair accessible, please try to imagine my disappointment when I visited the shop on Friday. Prior to this visit, nearly all the bric a brac, cds, records, books etc, which is what I like to ratch through in these shops, were placed in the front half of the shop. Therefore, I didn?t have to pass the till area to where all the clothes etc was located and didn?t feel I was in anyone?s way as people could get past me in my chair at the front of the shop and I could ratch at leisure! Now on Friday I entered a very different shop, all the clothes have been moved to the front, and the bric a brac etc moved to the back. I couldn?t get past the till, in fact I could barely get in the shop, which by the way is also now dark and gloomy, to see what treasures were in store, managed (just) to turn my chair round and left the shop empty handed. I won?t be returning, nor I imagine will a number of people who need accessibility, which is now denied in this shop. I didn?t spend hundreds when I visited but between £3 and £15 per week, hopefully the new layout might appeal to some, but not as many as you will lose I fear. So now I?m down to 2 charity shops I can access. Thanks managers of this shop, for ruining my visits!

Had the cheek to accuse my wife and daughter of shoplifting a tie while they paid for their goods then asked them to empty their bags. Upsetting a 10year old girl. Unbelievable. When proven innocent there was no apology only rudeness. Your staff have seriously let you down and need further training and an eye test. I will never buy or give to the Salvation Army again and will ensure I tell anyone who will listen to give the shop a wide berth. A shame you have to give one star as zero would be more fitting. A disgrace to the charity and the town.

Show up at 4.20 when shop closes at 5, note on door saying closes at 4.30. Call the shop and advised they will not be taking after 4 as apparently someone can't be bothered to open a door and let 2 people give donations. Avoid and donate elsewhere.
