Lovely food, good range a beers, with excellent service.We look forward too our next visit.Doggy friendly bar.Unfortunately I can’t rate the rooms as we haven’t stayed there because they’re not able to accommodate dogs in the rooms.Nearby activities: Only a short walk from the ravensglass to eskdale miniature railway.Walkability: Right on the doorstep to some of the most spectacular scenery in the lakes.Food & drinks: First class food, good portions which are well presented. Excellent range of local beers on tap.”

“Absolutely fantastic place. We booked for a Sunday lunch, booking was easy and had confidence as they took my number just in case. The beer garden and play area where very charming and peaceful. Small field for the day area with a couple of swings. Patio type area with quite a few wooden tables and chairs. Inside we were greeted very warmly and seated by a very friendly woman. Menus provided quickly and order taken promptly, lovely selection on the vegan and vegetarian specials board as well as the main menu and children's menu. The food was delicious, hot and served really quickly. Even so we never felt rushed and had a lovely table in a little nook. We were playing a few games of uno around waiting for our mains and then waiting for our desserts and when we hadn't quite finished a game when our youngest daughter had gone out to play we were told there was no rush to leave as the table wasn't booked again for a few hours. It was so relaxing and the food was amazing and good service that it will be our go to pub for food whenever we are in Eskdale now, thoroughly recommend the place if you are in the area.”
